[Industrial Field of Application] The present invention relates to an improvement of a golf iron club set, and particularly to an improvement of a groove formed in the club face of an iron club. [Prior art] The club face of a golf iron club is
In addition to providing a loft to impart backspin to the ball, there are many grooves that are parallel to the sole, and according to the rules of golf established by the Japan Golf Association, these grooves, especially in the impact area, are "A continuous straight groove of equal cross-section, with open edges on both sides, may be adopted. The width of the groove shall be approximately constant and shall not exceed 0.9 mm along its length. .The distance between adjacent edges shall be at least three times the width of the groove and not narrower than 1.9 mm.The depth of the groove shall be
Must not exceed 0.5 mm. ”. For this reason, conventional iron clubs used had triangular grooves with a V-shaped cross section with a groove angle of 90 degrees arranged side by side on the club face, but in recent years, clubs with opposing walls at almost right angles have been developed to facilitate backspin. Iron clubs are often used that have square grooves that stand up on the club face. [Problems to be solved by the invention] However, with iron clubs in which the above-mentioned square grooves are carved into the club face, the ball bites into the edges of the grooves well at the time of impact, and therefore backspin is easily applied. On the other hand, it has the problem of damaging the ball surface. This damage to the ball is caused by the edges of the grooves cutting the surface of the ball, and is especially true for No. 8 to No. 10 iron clubs with large lofts, pitching wedges, and sand wedges when the ball is impacted. Since the component force in the planar direction becomes large, the damage becomes large. In view of the above-mentioned problems, it is an object of the present invention to provide an iron club set with grooves that cause less damage to the ball surface and impart backspin to the ball as appropriate for each club. . [Means for Solving the Problems] In order to achieve the above object, the golf iron club set of the present invention consists of a plurality of iron clubs in which a plurality of linear grooves are carved in the club face substantially parallel to the sole. In the golf iron club set in which each of the iron clubs has a different loft, the cross-sectional shape of the plurality of linear grooves is an inverted isosceles trapezoid in a club with a small loft and an inverted triangle in a club with a large loft, and of the opposing walls of the groove with an inverted isosceles trapezoidal cross section,
The angle between the club face and the orthogonal plane (hereinafter this angle is also referred to as the opening angle of the opposing wall) increases as the loft increases for each club or for each group of clubs with similar lofts. And so. [Function] The golf iron club set with the above configuration has the following features:
The cross-sectional shape of the groove cut into the club face is varied depending on the size of the loft, and there are clubs in which the cross-sectional shape of the groove is an inverted triangle, and clubs in which the cross-sectional shape is an inverted isosceles trapezoid. For clubs with relatively large lofts (middle irons), the opening angle of the opposite walls of the groove is large, and the edge angle of the groove is therefore gentle, so the groove edge bites into the ball surface less and the cutting by the groove edge is reduced. Damage can be resolved. In addition, in low-numbered iron clubs with relatively small lofts, the opening angle of the opposing walls of the inverted isosceles trapezoidal groove is small, resulting in a structure in which the edge angle of the groove is approximately a right angle, so that the ball moves toward the club face at the time of impact. This prevents slippage and accurately transmits the impact force in the direction perpendicular to the club face and the component force in the club face direction corresponding to the loft of the club. [Embodiment] An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 shows a partially cutaway perspective view of the head of an iron club. The club head 1 is cast from soft iron and has a surface-ground finish, with a neck 3 protruding from one side for connection and fixation with the shaft 2. , a flat face 4 is formed on the front side, and a plurality of linear grooves 6 are carved into the face 4 so as to be substantially parallel to the sole 5, and each of the grooves 6 has a different loft θ. The cross-sectional shape differs depending on the number of iron clubs and pitching wedges and sand wedges, and is roughly divided into two types: the inverted triangular cross-section shown in Figure 2 and the inverted isosceles trapezoid cross-section shown in Figure 3. The groove 6, which has an inverted triangular cross section, is formed in large loft clubs consisting of No. 8 to No. 10 irons, pitching wedges, and sand wedges. Also, the latter groove 6 has an inverted isosceles trapezoidal cross section.
is formed on the No. 1 to No. 7 irons, but the opening angle α of the opposing wall 7 is different for each club. Table -
1 shows the cross-sectional shape of the inverted isosceles trapezoidal groove 6 for each club, with the opening width W, depth D, and opposing wall 7.
The opening angle α and the distance L between adjacent grooves 6 are listed.

有し、本考案の実用的効果はきわめて大きい。[Table] As shown in Table 1 above, the opening angle α of the opposing wall 7 of the groove 6 with an inverted isosceles trapezoid cross section is determined according to the loft θ of each club.
is set to a large value, and the variable of the opening angle α can be appropriately determined depending on conditions such as the type of club set or the material of the club face. A small loft group consisting of a 4-iron and a 5-iron.
The irons may be divided into two groups, a medium loft group consisting of No. 7 to No. 7 irons, and the same opening angle α may be set for the irons belonging to the same group. As an example, the former small loft group (long iron) is 5.0 degrees, and the latter medium loft group (middle iron) is 15.4 degrees. [Effect of the invention] In the golf iron club set of the invention, the cross-sectional shape of the plurality of linear grooves is an inverted isosceles trapezoid shape in a club with a small loft, and an inverted triangle shape in a club with a large loft, The opening angle of the opposing wall of the groove with a cross section was increased for each club or for each group of multiple clubs with similar lofts as the loft increased.
In addition to making it possible to accurately select the impact force, face direction component force, and back spin on the ball at impact for each club, the edge angle of the groove becomes looser for clubs with larger lofts, eliminating damage to the ball when hitting the ball. The practical effects of the present invention are extremely large.
