Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a shaving apparatus provided with an indication means which can be used under a bad condition of the illuminating circumstance of the indicating number of the indication means by avoiding limiting a space usable for the indication means on the shaving apparatus. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus is provided with a holder 2 for at least one cutting unit 3 and the cutting unit comprises an external cutting member 4 formed with hair-entry apertures 5 and an internal cutting member 6 which is drivable relative to the external cutting member and provided with an adjusting element 15 to vary the position of the external cutting member relative to the holder by the adjusting element, which is provided with the indication means. Light-emitting indication means 23 to 25 for showing the position of the external cutting member relative to the holder are provided and arranged in an electric circuit for the shaving apparatus and the adjusting element is coupled to a switching device 26 for the indication means.

[Prior Art] Such a shaving device is disclosed in US Pat.
It is known from No. 11,028. The adjustment element allows the cutting unit to be set in different positions in which the cutting unit protrudes to different degrees from the holder. This can influence the shaving performance of the device and the degree of skin irritation caused by shaving. Skin and hair characteristics play an important role in this, so the settings are highly individual.
