[Claim 1] A vehicle separator capable of detecting the passage of a vehicle and determining whether it is moving forward or backward, an axle detector capable of measuring the number of axles, wheel width, and number of axles of a passing vehicle, and a vehicle length detector. A vehicle length detector, a camera that photographs the license plate portion of the vehicle, an image processing device that recognizes the license plate size and two-digit vehicle model number of the vehicle based on the image information photographed by this camera, the vehicle separator, and the shaft. A vehicle type discrimination device comprising a wheel detector, a vehicle length detector, and a vehicle type discrimination control means for discriminating the vehicle type based on a signal from an image processing device.
