Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain anti-bacterial, deodorizing and anti-rashing properties by incorporating quaternary ammonium salt into an absorbing element between top and back sheets. CONSTITUTION:An absorbing element 3 is included between a non-liquid permeable back sheet 1 made of polyethylene or the like and a liquid permeable top sheet 2 made of unwoven cloth or the like and is made to contain a quaternary ammonium salt. The quaternary ammonium salt herein used is benzalkonium chloride, stearyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, cetyl trimethyl ammonium chloride and the like. For example, it is desired that benzalkonium easy to dissolve in water and higher in anti-bacterial effect is added at a rate of 0.01-0.1g per the weight of an absorbent element of a paper diaper. This can elimiinate a stimulating factor while ensuring sufficient anti-bacterial property and deodorizing effect even with limited addition of the substance.

The odor that comes from disposable diapers after use is mainly due to the generation of ammonia due to the decomposition power of enzymes (urease) of bacteria (uric acid bacteria, urea bacteria, etc.) contained in urine and feces. Furthermore, the generation of ammonia causes an increase in pH, which is also a cause of skin irritation.

In the past, several proposals have been made to prevent this ammonia odor, including physical adsorption methods using activated carbon, decomposition methods using chemical reactions, masking methods using aromatics, and decomposition methods using microorganisms. I can list many things.

However, there are no fundamental solutions other than adding antibacterial agents. Furthermore, according to the inventor's experiments, the malodor prevention agent described in the above publication is not very effective.
Moreover, it requires a large amount of use and is irritating to the skin, especially the sensitive skin of infants, so a solution to this problem has been desired.

In the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, for example, a paper diaper is constructed in which an absorbent element 3 is encapsulated between a liquid-impermeable back sheet such as polyethylene and a liquid-permeable top sheet 2 such as non-woven fabric. In this case, the absorption element 3 contains a quaternary ammonium salt. Absorbent element 3 in the example
has a structure in which an upper absorbent core 3A and a lower absorbent core 3B each made of cotton-like pulp are laminated. moreover,
The paper diaper is provided with leg elastic members 4 on both sides, waist elastic members 5 on the front and rear ends, and a polymeric water-absorbing agent 6 interposed between the upper absorbent core 3A and the lower absorbent core 3B. .

In the present invention, when the absorption element contains a quaternary ammonium salt that is highly stable and has a high antibacterial effect,
A quaternary ammonium salt is diluted to a concentration of 0.025 to 2.0% and placed in the absorbent body inside a disposable diaper, on the absorbent body surface facing the liquid-permeable top sheet 2, or in a laminated structure as in the example. In this case, it can be added by spraying or the like onto the absorbent surface facing the liquid-impermeable backsheet 1 in an amount of preferably 0.0001 to 0.01 g based on the weight of the absorbent element.

In order to further reduce the irritation of the antibacterial agent to the skin, it is preferable to add the malodor generation preventive agent according to the present invention into the absorbent body or on the surface of the absorbent body facing the water-impermeable backsheet. However, it is not limited to this. It may be impregnated with a polymeric water-absorbing agent in the absorber.
