Figures 3a and 3b are front and partial front views, respectively, of a conventional printing element. U
Metal levers 3 and 4 are connected to each upper end of the letter-shaped metal base 1 via plate-shaped metal connections. The upper ends of the piezoelectric elements 2, whose lower ends are connected to the inner bottom of the base 1, are connected to the lower ends of the levers 3 and 4 through respective plate-shaped metal connections. Further, the upper ends of the levers 3 and 4 are connected to a metal lever 7 via plate-shaped metal connection members 5 and 6, respectively. A printing wire 8 is attached to the lever 7. The piezoelectric element 2 is a ceramic element, and when a driving voltage is applied, it expands in the direction shown by the dashed arrow A and generates dimensional distortion. Correspondingly, the upper ends of the levers 3 and 4 undergo an enlarged displacement in the direction of dashed arrows B and C, which applies a couple force to the lever 7 via the connecting members 5 and 6, causing rotational movement, and the wire 8 moves in the direction shown by the dashed arrow D. The wire 8 is guided by wire guides 9 and 10 and performs a dot printing operation toward the platen 11.

During the printing operation of the above-mentioned conventional printing element, the lever 7 rotates as shown by the broken line in FIG.
In conventional printing elements, the wire 8 is attached to the lever 7 by providing a groove or hole in the lever and welding one end there. However, since the heat capacity of the lever 7 is considerably larger than that of the wire 8, the welded area is often overheated, causing embrittlement and cracking at the welded area and its vicinity, which deteriorates the fatigue strength of the material. Since stress due to bending and impact reaction during the above-described printing operation is concentrated at the location where the fatigue strength has deteriorated, there is a problem in that the wire 8 is likely to break during repeated operations.

The printing element of the present invention includes a U-shaped base, a piezoelectric element whose one end is connected to the inner bottom of the base, and a piezoelectric element which is connected to the upper end of the base and the other end of the piezoelectric element when driven. In a printing element equipped with a lever mechanism that magnifies dimensional distortion generated by a piezoelectric element and transmits it to a printing wire, the lever for attaching the wire of the lever mechanism is provided with a wire attachment part protruding from the lever. One end of the wire is attached and fixed to the wire attachment portion.

FIG. 1 is a partial front view showing a first embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, instead of attaching the end of the wire 8 to the groove or hole of the lever 7 by welding it in the conventional printing unit shown in FIGS. The end of the wire 8 is attached to this.
That is, the metal lever 7 has a wire attachment part in which one end is connected to the lever 7 and the other end of the plate-shaped metal connection part is provided with a groove or a hole for attaching the end of the wire 8. 12 are formed. This wire attachment portion 12 is formed of the same material as the lever 7 by press working. The wire 8 is attached by welding to the groove or hole of the wire attachment part 12.

By providing the wire attachment part 12 and attaching the wire 8 to it, the heat capacity of the wire attachment part 12 is small, so the welding area does not become overheated when welding the wire 8, and deterioration of the fatigue limit of the material can be prevented. . Furthermore, during the printing operation, the wire attachment part 1
The plate-shaped connection portion 2 is bent to relieve stress concentration on the wire 8. Therefore, the conventional wire 8
Breakage at the base can be prevented.

FIG. 2 is a partial front view showing a second embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment as well, unlike the conventional structure, the wire 8 is not directly attached to the lever 7, but a protrusion is provided on the lever 7, and a wire attachment part 13 is provided with a groove or hole formed at the tip of the protrusion for attaching the wire 8. It is provided. This wire attachment part 13 is
It is formed from the same material as the lever 7 by press working. The wire 8 is attached by welding to the groove or hole of the wire attachment part 13.
