Abstract

PURPOSE:To prolong the life of a filter, to make the filter in expensive by reduction of the thickness and to make the exchange facile and quick by providing a projection member projected to an upper stream side of a fluid from the central part of a sheet form filtering member, containing an ozone decomposition agent at the outer surface part and removing a portion of ozone in the fluid. CONSTITUTION:The ozone removing filter 20 is provided with a sheet form filtering member 21 which is installed nearly orthogonally crossing air flow 13 and a conical form projection member 22 attached at the central part 21a and projected to the upper stream side of the air flow 13. The filtering member 21 incorporates the ozone decomposition agent 23 and the projection member 22 is coated or printed with the ozone decomposition agent on the outer surface part 22a. The filtering member 21 is supported with a supporting member 25 and is attachable and detachable together with the projection member 22 when it is used to the life limit. While the air 13 containing ozone sucked from an ozone generation source 14 with a fun 15 is brought into contact with the outer surface part 22a of the projection part 22 or is sucked directly into the filtering member 21, and is exhausted to the outside.

2. Description of the Related Art Generally, an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine has a built-in corona discharger such as a charging charger, a transfer charger, a separation charger, and a static elimination charger for charging a photoreceptor. Ozone generated when a corona discharger discharges can cause discomfort to the human body if it exceeds a certain concentration, so an ozone removal means using an ozone removal filter is usually provided at the outlet of the cooling air that cools the internal heat generation. After removing as much ozone as possible from the cooling air flowing outside, it is released outside.

Examples of ozone removal means using conventional ozone removal filters are shown in FIGS. 4 to 6. In the ozone removal means 1 shown in FIG. 4, a propeller fan 2 having four blades 2a is arranged near the outer cover of the image forming apparatus, and is fixed to the outer cover (not shown). Filter 3 is attached. As the propeller fan 2 rotates, the ozone-containing air 5 inside the device is sucked in the direction of the arrow by the suction force of the propeller fan 2, passes through the ozone removal filter 3 together with the hot air inside the device, and the ozone is removed by the ozone removal filter 3. Most of it is removed and released to the outside.

Therefore, almost no air 5 passes through the central part 3b of the ozone removal filter 3 corresponding to the peripheral part 2b of the propeller fan 2 and is wasted, resulting in a problem that the ozone removal effect per total area of the propeller fan 2 becomes small. There is.

There is a device as shown in FIG. 6 described in Japanese Patent No. 195668. Since the support part 2b of the propeller fan 2 originally has no suction force, the ozone removal filter 6 has a central part 6 facing the support part 2b.
Based on the idea that an ozone removal filter member is not necessary for the ozone removal filter 6, a grip portion 7 is provided in the center portion 6a of the ozone removal filter 6 in place of the ozone removal filter.

[Operation] According to claim 1 of the present invention, the fluid containing ozone is sucked by the blades around the fan, flows toward the plate-shaped filter member, and reaches the outer surface of the protruding member on the upstream side of the center of the filter member. Part of the ozone is decomposed by contacting the outer surface of the filter, the ozone concentration in the fluid is reduced, and the reduced ozone concentration fluid passes through the periphery of the filter member. This reduces the use of ozone decomposers in the filter member, greatly extending its usable period and extending the life of the ozone removal filter.

Next, the operation will be explained. When the copying machine is turned on, the ozone generation source 14 inside the copying machine operates and begins to generate ozone, and the ozone removal device 1
The power of the motor 18 of No. 1 is turned on, and the propeller fan 15
begins to rotate, and the ozone-containing air 13 generated within the copying machine is sucked into the propeller fan 15 and concentrated near the ozone removal device 11. The air 13 near the ozone removal device 11 is swirled by the propeller fan 15, and some of the air 13 comes into contact with the outer surface 22a of the protruding member 22, and some of the air 13 is not directly sucked into the filter member 21.
The duct 17 passes through the blade portion 15b of the propeller fan 15.
is discharged to the outside through the At this time, ozone in the air 13 that has come into contact with the outer surface 22a of the protruding member 22 comes into contact with the ozone decomposer 23 and is decomposed, and the ozone concentration in the air 13 is significantly reduced and passes through the filter member 21. Ozone is further decomposed by the ozone decomposer 23 in the filter member 21, and harmless air 13 is discharged to the outside. In the filter member 21, ozone is decomposed by the protruding member 22, and the air 13 whose ozone concentration has been significantly reduced is sucked into the filter member 21 and passes through the filter member 21.
The decrease in the ozone decomposing agent in the filter member 21 is small, the deterioration of the ozone decomposition performance is small, and the retention period of the ozone decomposition performance of the filter member 21 is significantly extended.
1, that is, the life of the ozone removal filter 20 is significantly increased.

[0015] Furthermore, the thickness of the filter member 21 can be reduced in consideration of the amount of ozone generated, and the cost can also be reduced. After using the ozone removal filter 20 for a long period of time, the protruding member 22 is held and the support member 25a on the lower side of the case 16 is unattached, and the protruding member 22 and the filter member 21 are removed from the case 16 as one unit. can be removed, and then a new ozone removal filter 20 can be attached to the case 16 by the reverse operation, and the ozone removal filter 20 can be removed.
It is extremely easy to attach and detach, and can be replaced quickly.
