Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a user to know which of documents is correctly transmitted and received by automatically returning a part of the documents as an image signal together with reception information to a transmitter when the reception is completed. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 6 draws out the number of sheets of originals a stored in a memory 3 and the text surface constitution of a receipt and simultaneously draws the corresponding year, month and date and time out of a timer 4. Further, such information is converted to character signals by a character generator 5. The image of the first sheet among the received documents stored in the image memory 8 is reduced and is combined with a receipt and is then returned as the image signal to the transmitter. Then, which of the documents is the receipt is known at a glance and the trouble arising from a communication error, etc., is avoided.

[Prior Art] Document communication using a facsimile machine is
Make sure that the original you sent has definitely arrived at the receiving end.
Furthermore, it is not possible to easily check whether the information has been sent without error. If the confirmation is done manually, it can be done by the cumbersome means of telephone responses between operators; however,
In the case of automatic communication, other suitable means must be used instead, and various proposals have already been made for this purpose. However, these methods are only simple confirmation methods, and for example, when the receiving party later claims that a manuscript that was supposed to have been sent has not arrived, it can be used to determine whether or not the sending party is responsible for the communication error. It was not sufficiently effective. As a way to solve this problem, when the reception is completed,
It is conceivable to send receipt information indicating that the manuscript has been received back to the sender. However, when a large number of originals are transmitted, there is a problem in that it is difficult to determine which originals were transmitted and received correctly and which originals resulted in an error. The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned circumstances, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a facsimile communication system that makes it easy to know which documents have been correctly transmitted and received.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The facsimile communication system of the present invention for achieving the above object includes, when the reception of the image signal of the original from the transmitter is completed, receipt information indicating that the original has been received. At the same time, at least a portion of the document is automatically sent back to the transmitter as an image signal.

[Operation] The facsimile communication system of the present invention is designed to return not only the receipt information but also at least a part of the received document as an image signal, so that the transmitter side can easily know which document has been correctly transmitted and received. It becomes possible. Please note that it is only necessary to know which manuscript is to be returned.
Therefore, a portion of the manuscript may be sent, or it may be returned in a reduced format.

Embodiments Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 schematically shows a facsimile apparatus using the present invention, in which (1) is a facsimile transmitter that is actually used for both sending and receiving purposes, and (2) is a facsimile receiver. The receiver (2) includes a memory (3) that stores information regarding the textual structure of a receipt, which will be described later, a timer (4) that emits a clock signal including the date, and a character that converts various signals into character signals. A generator (5), an image memory (8) that stores received image signals, and a CP that controls and coordinates these.
The transmitter (1) is provided with a counter (7) for counting the number of originals (a) to be transmitted. FIG. 2 shows an example of the receipt (b) sent back from the facsimile receiver (2) to the facsimile receiver (1). In other words, this is a type of record that includes the date and time of receipt, the number of manuscripts, the text indicating that it was received, the name of the recipient, etc. Of these, the specific numerical values of date and time are The number of originals is specified by a timer (4), the number of originals is counted by a counter (7), and the receiving side's name and other text structure are stored in advance in the memory (3) by the receiving side operator. This receipt (b) is returned to the sending facsimile that sent the manuscript when the reception of the manuscript is completed, but as shown in Figure 2, the upper half is the receipt (b) and the lower half is is combined with the received original to form a reduced image of the first sheet of the received original and sent back to the sending facsimile.

Next, the communication procedure between the transmitter (1) and the receiver (2) will be explained with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3. When a call is set up and the transmitter (1) starts transmitting multiple sheets of original (a), after pre-procedures such as identification of the other party's device and training are performed, the first sheet of original (a) is sent. image information is transmitted as an image signal. When the image information transmission is completed, post-procedures such as sending a message end signal and a multi-page signal are performed, and the second document (a) is sent through the same pre-procedure as above.
image information is sent. This transmission procedure is continued until the document (a) is exhausted, and each time the image information is transmitted, the receiver (2
) side receives a record (c) similar to the original (a), and a counter (7) counts the number of originals. counter (7)
A photoelectric sensor detects passage of the original (a) through the original reading section, and the above counting is performed by sequentially sending the original detection signal from the counter (7) to the memory (3). When all the originals (a) have been transmitted, a signal indicating the end of the procedure is transmitted in the final post-procedure, and the receiver (2) that receives the signal immediately automatically returns receipt information. To send the receipt signal, the CPU first retrieves the number of manuscripts (a) stored in the memory (3) and the text structure of the receipt;
At the same time, the date and time are retrieved from the timer (4), this information is converted into a character signal by the character generator (5), and the first image of the received original is stored in the image memory (8). This is done by reducing the size of the image and combining it with this receipt, and then sending it back to the transmitter (1) as an image signal that has gone through the same process as general image information, that is, has gone through processes such as encoding. The line of the receiver (2) is disconnected when the above-mentioned reception signal is sent, and the line of the transmitter (1) is disconnected when the signal is received. The combination of the received receipt (b) and the first manuscript is recorded. It should be noted that the text structure of the receipt (b) may be as detailed as possible to achieve the above-mentioned purpose, and may be set as appropriate by each department using the receipt. Further, the manuscript (c) to be returned together with the receipt (b) may be set as appropriate to the extent that it is clear which manuscript has been sent.

As explained above, according to the present invention, a receipt certifying transmission can be securely secured on the sending side, and at least a part of the manuscript is returned together with the receipt. It is advantageous because the text can be seen at a glance and various troubles caused by communication errors can be avoided.
