Abstract

PURPOSE:To immediately play back a program which has been videotaped by means of a timer by installing a circuit which automatically detects the beginning of a videotaped program in order to play back the program after it has been videotaped by means of the timer. CONSTITUTION:A signal is input to a timer 2 from an operating key 1. When a changeover switch 9 is set to an OFF state, a videotaping operation is performed by means of the timer. When the changeover switch 9 is set to an ON state and the videotaping reservation time by means of the timer exceeds the residual amount of a magnetic tape 8, the timer 2 instructs a drive circuit 7 to rewind the magnetic tape 8 via a system control circuit 4. At the starting time of a videotaping operation, the timer 2 sends information on a tuning operation to a tuner 3. The system control circuit 4 obtains information on the start of the videotaping operation from the timer 2 and instructs a videotaping mode.
