から、ペネトレーターの発生を防止するためのエ
ツジ部付着スケールを同時にかつ自動的に除去す
ることができ、しかもエツジ部の研摩材料として
サンドペーパーを円筒状に形成したフラツプホイ
ルを使用しているので、コイルが上下に移動して
も追従が可能であり研摩むらが発生することがな
い。また、この装置はコイルに対して進退移動で
きる上、上下2個1対のフラツプホイルもコイル
に対し接離可能な構造となつているので、コイル
幅の変化に対応できるとともに、コイルの停止
時、トラブル時等にフラツプホイルを退避させて
コイルとの接触を防止できる利点があり、さらに
構造的にも簡単であるため従来の酸洗方式、メカ
ニカルデスケーラー、エツジシエーバー等に比べ
設備費が安くつく利点がある。また、この装置は
電縫鋼管製造ラインの例えばシヤー・ウエルダー
以降でブレークダウンの間の任意の位置に設置し
て、コイルの移動中に連続して表裏エツジ部の4
面を研摩することができる等、極めて実用性に富
