Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the subject composition brilliantly coloring due to photo- interference, having excellent designability and useful for automotive top coatings, etc., by compounding an excellent coherent pearl mica pigment and a metal-plated mica pigment having a bright layer and formed by plating the coherent pearl mica pigment with a metal. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition comprises a coherent pearl mica pigment comprising mica such as natural mica and an inorganic thin coating film formed on the surface of the mica, the inorganic thin coating film being prepared by coating the surface of the mica with an inorganic substance such as titanium dioxide in a thickness of e.g. 200mum, and a metal-plated mica pigment having a bright layer formed by plating a metal such as silver on the surface of the coherent pearl mica pigment (the amount of the plated metal is preferably 0.5-80% based on the pearl mica pigment).

わるため、極めて強い干渉光を発し、濃色も可能である
ため今後の自動車意匠塗装の主流となるものとして期待
されている。

ら有機顔料を併用した場合には、正面から見た場合は隠
蔽性が高いため有機顔料による発色は大きくないが、斜
め方向から見ると隠蔽性が低いため光路が長くなり、そ
の間に含まれる顔料の量が多くなるため、有機顔料によ
る発色が大きい。したがって見る角度によって色調が極
端に異なることとなり、意匠性を損なう場合もある。

耐候性に不具合が生じるようになる。

に濁りや曇りが生じる場合が多く、耐候性も低下するの
で、上記2種類のマイカ系顔料のみで構成することが望
ましい。

(実施例1) 干渉パールマイカとしてのホワイトパールマイカ(「イ
リオジン103WIIJに無電解メッキにより銀が5重
量%付着されて形成された銀メッキマイカ2.0重量部
と、アクリル樹脂(「アクリディックA−322J大日
本インキ化学社製)28.8重量部、メラミン樹脂([
スーパーベッカミンL−117−60J大日本インキ化
学社製)6.0重量部及びシンナー63.2重量部をデ
イスパー、でよく混合し、実施例1のベースコート塗料
組成物を調整した。

量部に対して調整用原色Aを10重量部混合し、電着塗
膜及び中塗り塗膜をもつ綱板表面に塗装し、さらに別に
製造されたアクリル−メラミン系クリア塗料をウェット
−オン−ウェットで塗布して、140℃で30分焼付け
て硬化させた。

整した。そして実施例1と同様に試験し結果を第1表に
示す。

同一の樹脂組成の樹脂中にペイントシェーカーで分散し
た調整用原色りを用いた。比較例1および比較例2では
、実施例1と同様のベースコート100重量部に調整用
原色Cを3重量部および1重量部それぞれ混合した。比
較例3および比較例4では、実施例1と同様のベースコ
ート100重量部に調整用原色りを1.5重量部および
0.5重量部それぞれ混合した。そして実施例1と同様
に試験して結果を第1表に示す。

西加茂郡藤岡町)で2年間暴露しても色調の変化はみら
れなかった。

にそれぞれ赤味及び青味が強く発色し、正面との差が大
きくなって意匠性に優れているとはいいがたい、そして
比較例2及び比較例4では、有機顔料の量が少なく斜め
方向から見た場合には丁度良い色調となるが、正面から
見た場合に色調が薄くなるという不具合がある。
