Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a long life of a cleaning blade by a method wherein a cleaning means is constructed by a cleaning blade in which its multisides are utilized to form a scraping member.
CONSTITUTION: A blade 2 for use in cleaning on a surface of a dielectric belt 1 is of a square shape. It has a supporting point at its center for rotating the blade. Four sides of the square blade 2 are rotated and alternatively abutted on the surface of the dielectric belt 1. At this time, a rotating operation of the blade 2 is carried out by a control motor 3 arranged in the central axis of the blade 2 while keeping an accuracy in angle. With such an arrangement, the blade 2 is formed into a polygonal shape and its multi-sides are utilized to enable a life of one blade to be efficiently extended.
