Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a rubber roll having low hardness and conductivity without heightening the hardness even when a great deal of conductive material is added by using polyhexene rubber having very low hardness as main component to produce the rubber roll. CONSTITUTION:A rubber roll is composed of the single substance of polyhexene rubber or other fixed rubber mixture, and conductive material is added into the above component to form it into a roll-shape for forming the rubber roll. In the case of the mixture, a general rubber adding quantity is established to be 5-45% in weight so that surface adherence improving effect and low hardness may be obtained. Carbon black is added as much as 5-40% in weight as the conductive material. The above formation can produce a rubber composition being low in hardness and electric resistance, and the rubber roll being low in hardness and conductive.

2. Description of the Related Art In office equipment such as copying machines, facsimile machines, printers, and recorders, rubber rolls for transporting paper sheets are used in paper feeding devices that transport paper sheets. It is desirable that the rubber composition used for such a rubber roll for transporting paper sheets has low hardness and low electrical resistance. Here, low hardness is an important factor for maintaining a high coefficient of friction during paper sheet conveyance and preventing occurrence of conveyance defects such as slips between paper sheets and rubber rolls. In addition, low electrical resistance is an important factor to prevent paper sheets from wrapping around the rubber roll surface due to frictional charging on the rubber roll surface due to friction between the paper sheet and the rubber roll, and to prevent paper dust from adhering to the surface of the rubber roll and causing conveyance defects. be. Furthermore, since charging of paper sheets causes image disturbances in the image processing process of electrophotography, low electrical resistance is also necessary to prevent charging.

The above polyhexene rubber (manufactured by Nippon Gosei Rubber) is produced by polymerizing polyhexene, which is obtained by polymerizing 1-hexene using a catalyst system that combines a transition metal compound and an organoaluminum compound, using an organic peroxide. It is obtained by crosslinking, and its pure rubber crosslinked physical properties are hardness (J

The low hardness and conductive rubber roll according to the present invention is composed of polyhexene rubber alone or a mixture with other specified rubber, and the polyhexene rubber alone or the mixture with other specified rubber is conductive. It is formed into a roll by adding a plastic material and crosslinking it by transfer molding, injection molding, press molding, extrusion molding, steam pressure molding, etc. However, since polyhexene rubber alone has adhesive properties on the surface, it is not suitable for conveying paper sheets, but it cannot be used with other specified general rubbers (natural rubber, isoprene rubber, styrene/butadiene rubber, butyl rubber, butyl rubber, Surface adhesion can be improved by blending appropriate amounts of ethylene/propylene rubber, chloroprene rubber, chlorosulfonated polyethylene, acrylonitrile/butadiene rubber, urethane rubber, etc.). Here, considering the compatibility with polyhexene rubber, general rubber is butadiene rubber,
Ethylene-propylene rubber is preferred, and the appropriate amount is 5 to 45 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of polyhexene rubber alone or a mixture with other specified rubbers. The reason why the amount of general rubber added is desirably 5 to 45 parts by weight is that if it is less than 5 parts by weight, there is no effect of improving surface adhesion, and if it exceeds 45 parts by weight, a product with low hardness cannot be obtained.

Considering processability, carbon blanks (channel black, furnace black) are suitable. The amount to be added is 5 to 40 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of polyhexene rubber alone or a mixture with other specified rubbers, which is an appropriate amount. The reason why the amount of conductive material added is preferably 5 to 40 parts by weight is that if it is less than 5 parts by weight, it will not work as a conductive member, and if it exceeds 40 parts by weight, it will contaminate paper sheets. .
