Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the subject remedy containing pleuromutilin derivative as an active component, exhibiting excellent antibacterial activity against bacteria of genus Renibacterium such as streptococci and free from cross resistance between various conventional antibiotics. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent contains, as an active component, a pleuromutilin derivative which is a free compound, an acid addition salt or a quaternary salt of a compound of formula [R1 is ethyl or vinyl; R2 is 5-membered saturated heterocyclic group or amino(OH-substituted)alkyl], e.g. 14- deoxy-14[(2-D-valylamino-isobutyl)thioacetoxime]-mutilin. The pleuromutilin derivative can be synthesized by the chemical modification of a precursor pleuromutilin which is a diterpene antibiotic substance derived from culture liquid of Pleurotus mutilus. The agent is administered in the form of powder, liquid, feed, etc. It is useful for the prevention and remedy of bacterial disease of fish such as streptococciosis and bacterial kidney disease.

ン、乳糖などの増量剤・賦形剤等々と混合して粉剤、顆
粒剤、水和剤、液剤、錠剤等々を形成して投与するか、
更に飼料は生餌に添加して投与する。
