The present invention relates to a method for producing polycarbonate resin granules that have a large bulk density and are easy to dry from a methylene chloride solution of a polycarbonate resin. As a method for obtaining polycarbonate resin granules from a methylene chloride solution of a polycarbonate resin, a method is known in which a methylene chloride solution of a polycarbonate resin is added to hot water or hot water, and the methylene chloride is evaporated in the warm water or hot water. (For example, Tokuko Sho 40-3533, Tokuko Sho 46-37424). However, when using these methods, the bulk density of the polycarbonate resin granules obtained is 0.4.
g/cm 3 or less, which cannot be said to be fully satisfactory. Moreover, the polycarbonate resin granules after being separated from water have a high water content and require a large drying load. As a result of extensive research into the manufacturing method of polycarbonate resin granules, the present inventors found that when manufacturing polycarbonate resin granules as described above under a specific pressure, they easily have a large bulk density and can be easily separated from water. The present invention was completed based on the knowledge that it is possible to obtain polycarbonate resin granules with extremely low water content after drying. That is, the purpose of the present invention is to produce polycarbonate resin granules that have great industrial value. This is accomplished by evaporating methylene chloride under pressure to form polycarbonate resin granules. The present invention will be explained in detail below. The methylene chloride solution of the polycarbonate resin targeted in the present invention can be prepared by a well-known method.

These may be used alone or in combination, but in addition to these, hydroquinone, resorcinol, dihydroxy compounds such as 4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl, terephthalol chloride, isophthaloyl chloride, etc. Dicarboxylic acid halides, diamines such as piperazine, dipiperazyl, etc. may be used in combination. Methylene chloride used as a solvent for polymerization reaction is 10
About % by weight or less of other solvents, such as chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, 1,2-dichloroethane, 1,
It may contain 1,2-trichloroethane, tetrachloroethane, chlorobenzene, etc.
Such a mixed solvent is not inconvenient in the production of the polycarbonate resin granules of the present invention, and therefore can be used directly in the method of the present invention following the polymerization reaction without separating methylene chloride from other solvents. The polymer concentration of the methylene chloride solution of the polycarbonate resin targeted in the present invention is 3 to 35% by weight, preferably 5 to 25% by weight. In the present invention, a methylene chloride solution of the polycarbonate resin is dispersed in warm water, and the methylene chloride is evaporated under pressure to obtain polycarbonate resin particles. The granulation equipment used here can be any equipment that can heat, pressurize, and stir, but usually it is equipped with a stirrer, a methylene chloride solution inlet tube for the resin, and a pressure adjustment valve to extract the evaporated methylene chloride. A stirred tank with tubes is sufficient. To disperse the methylene chloride solution of the resin in hot water, the hot water may be charged in a granulating device, and the methylene chloride solution of the resin may be added to this while stirring, or the two may be mixed and dispersed in a separate device in advance. It may also be introduced into the granulation device. The pressure inside the granulator is 1.1-50 atm, preferably
The pressure is 1.1 to 20 atm, more preferably 1.2 to 10 atm. If this pressure is too low, the effects of the present invention cannot be expected. On the other hand, a high concentration is not a disadvantage in terms of the high density and moisture content of the obtained granules, but
It is not advantageous in terms of equipment, operation, heat source costs, etc.
This pressure is regulated, for example, by a pressure regulating valve provided in the evaporated methylene chloride outlet pipe. The temperature of the hot water may be a temperature at which the vapor pressure of methylene chloride is equal to or higher than the above pressure, and may be selected in consideration of the desired evaporation rate of methylene chloride. When dispersing a methylene chloride solution of resin in hot water, the ratio of both amounts depends on the type of polycarbonate resin,
Although it varies depending on the molecular weight, resin concentration in the methylene chloride solution, etc., the methylene chloride solution:water volume ratio is usually about 1:0.1 to 4, preferably about 1:0.2 to 3. In addition, the polycarbonate resin granules produced in the granulator form a water slurry, but the amount of polycarbonate resin granules in this water slurry is 3 times the water slurry from the standpoint of stirring and handling.
-50% by weight, preferably 5-40% by weight. In this way, when producing polycarbonate resin granules by evaporating methylene chloride, it is possible to obtain polycarbonate resin granules that have a large bulk density and an extremely low water content after separation from water, which is extremely advantageous in terms of drying and handling. be. The present invention will be specifically explained below with reference to Examples, but the present invention is not limited to the following Examples unless the gist thereof is exceeded. In addition, "%" in an Example shows "weight%." In addition, the particle size is expressed as 50% cumulative weight on sieve (Dp-50), and the particle size distribution is published by Maruzen Co., Ltd. on October 25, 1971.

-Rammler (Rosin Rammler) distribution formula R = 100exp (-bDp n ) (where R is on the sieve [wt%] Dp is particle diameter [mm] b indicates a constant). Example 1 and Comparative Example 1 15 liters of water was poured into a 20 (inner diameter 26 cm) jacketed stirring tank equipped with a polymer solution inlet pipe, an evaporated methylene chloride outlet pipe with a pressure adjustment valve, and a bladed propeller with a blade diameter of 16 cm. After charging, 13% methylene chloride solution of polycarbonate resin having a reduced viscosity (ηsp/C) of 0.52 dl/g was added to this water under stirring.
Methylene chloride was evaporated under the conditions of a pressure of 1.5 atm and a water temperature of 58° C. while introducing the water at a rate of 1/hr to produce polycarbonate resin granules. The water content of the resin granules obtained by centrifugation from the water slurry containing the obtained resin granules is
