Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable hair treatment close to the scalp with a treatment agent by having a handle at the axial end of a roller. CONSTITUTION: A user rolls up a lock of hairs by hand in a slot 8 of a roller 1, closes half of the shell of an enveloper 2 and closes one end of the enveloper with a hermetical cap 5 and covers the roller with the enveloper 2. The tuft of the rolled hairs gets out by way of the slit 10 of the enveloper 2. At the end facing a hermetical cap 6, the roller 1 is turned by the handle 7 before closing the enveloper 2, the tuft of hairs are further fastened and drawn toward the inside by way of a gap 10. After the tuft of hairs is fastened, the enveloper 2 is pushed onto the roller 1 in the axial direction and connected by the cap 6. Thus, hairs can be rolled tightly again after rolling up and an excessive potential stress exerted to the hair can be prevented by the handle 7.

The inner dimensions of the enclosure are larger than the outer dimensions of the rollers to trap hair in the gap between the enclosure and the rollers, and the enclosure receives the rollers and securely interconnects the enclosures. Such a curler is disclosed in German Patent No. 3,821,854, in which slots and channels running axially, radially and centrally are made in the rollers to guide the hair treatment agent from the intake into the rollers. The hair treatment agent is brought into close contact with the curly hair and guided to the outlet.

The enclosure usually consists of two half-shells of semicircular cross section that are interconnected by a hinge.

When using this known curler, the strands of hair to be treated are wound around the roller in the form of a curl. The roller is then wrapped in an enclosure by closing both half-shells around the hinge, allowing the curls to emerge from the gap between the two half-shells of the enclosure. The two shaft ends of a curler made in this way are firmly connected to each other by a clamping or closing mechanism. After arranging the curler in this way and closing it, the treatment agent is pumped into the inside of the curler where the hair is wrapped around the roller, and the treatment agent coming from the intake flows through the hair wrapped around the roller and then the treatment agent is pumped into the inside of the curler where the hair is wrapped around the roller. The object of the invention is to improve a curler of the type mentioned at the outset so that the hair can be wrapped as close as possible to the scalp.

The curler described above is used as follows.

First, manually wind the strand of hair around the roller 1 at the slot 8 in the usual manner. The enclosure 2 is then capped by tightening the enclosure half shells and snugly closing one end with a sealing cap.

The curled lock of hair exits through a slit 10 in the enclosure 2. Before closing tightly the enclosure 2 at the end facing the sealing cap 6 (on the left in FIG. 1), turn the roller 1 by hand using the handle 7 to further wrap the curly hair and wrap the lock of hair into the enclosure 2. It is drawn further inward through the gap 10.

A tuft of hair is drawn into the enclosure 2 and after the tuft has been wrapped around the rollers to the desired extent to a point close to the scalp, the enclosure 2 is pushed completely axially onto the rollers 1 and sealed. Connect firmly with cap 6.

Thus, with the above-described curler, the hair tresses can be first rolled up and then wrapped again to further reduce the distance to the scalp.
