Claims

[Claims for Utility Model Registration] (a) An R/W head for recording/reproducing data; (b) An R/W head equipped with the R/W head and an R/W head for recording/reproducing data;
an actuator for positioning the W head; (c) a light emitting section/light receiving section assembly mounted on the actuator; (d) disposed on a fixed side with respect to the light emitting section/light receiving section assembly; A magnetic disk drive device comprising: a slit plate having an optical pattern recorded thereon; and (e) means for generating a position signal for the actuator based on an output signal from the light emitting section/light receiving section assembly.
