ハンドスキヤナーは第1図に示すようにハンド

示すようにランプ5によつて用紙2に光を照射
し、反射光を窓12を通してレンズ6によつてイ
メージセンサー7の上に文字の像を結像させ、電
気信号に変換して増幅器8で増幅しコード4によ
つて識別処理装置に送るようになつている。従来
のハンドスキヤナーではレンズは固定されてお
り、従つて用紙上の文字は予め定められた倍率で
イメージセンサー上に結像させている。レンズの
倍率が一定であるので文字が大きい場合には像が
イメージセンサーの受光領域よりはみ出して結像
されて読み取れず、また文字が小さい場合文字の
線幅がイメージセンサーの光電変換素子の分解能
より小さく結像されることがあると読み取れな
い。即ち文字の大きさが異なると読み取ることが
できない欠点がある。
