Claims

In a lathe in which a loader entrance/exit window is provided on a front plate from which a main shaft of a machine cover projects, and a loader for attaching and detaching a workpiece to the main shaft can be freely stored into the machine cover from the loader entrance/exit window, the loader entrance/exit window is closed. The window cover can be opened forward and moved freely.
The lathe is provided with an interlocking mechanism that moves the window cover back and forth between an open position and a closed position in conjunction with the movement of the loader into and out of the loader entrance/exit window.
