(Prior art) In recent years, containers for carbonated drinks, beer, etc. have been made using materials such as polyethylene terephthalate.
Axially stretched plastic bottles are becoming popular. These bottles have a round bottom that bulges out into a substantially spherical shape to increase internal pressure resistance, and a base cup is attached to the bottom to give them independence. Until now, the bottoms of bottles were relatively thick and rigid, so when attaching a base cup to the bottom of a bottle with adhesive, etc., if you pressed the bottle from above, you could make good pressure contact with the bottom. In recent bottles, which tend to be made thinner by increasing the stretching ratio of the bottom part, there is a problem in that the bottom part deforms when it comes into pressure contact with the base cup.

(Structure of the Invention) The gist of the present invention is that when attaching a base cup to the bottom of a round-bottomed plastic bottle, a rod with a stretchable elastic bag attached to the tip is inserted through the mouth of the plastic bottle with the elastic bag contracted. This method of attaching a base cup is characterized in that pressure fluid is sent into the elastic bag through the rod to cause the bag to expand, thereby pressing the bottom of the plastic bottle from the inside and press-contacting the bottom of the plastic bottle to the base cup.

The plastic bottle in the present invention includes:
Round-bottomed products are produced by the so-called blow molding method, in which a preform made of plastic such as polyethylene terephthalate, polyacrylonitrile, or polyvinyl chloride is molded by blowing pressure fluid into it and pressing it against the inner surface of a mold at a temperature above its softening point and below its melting point. It can be used suitably.

Further, the base cup may be made of any material as long as it has a support wall that supports the round bottom and a flat bottom surface to obtain independence, and its material may be polyethylene,

As shown in FIG.
The method for attaching the base cup 2 to the bottom part 11 of the plastic bottle is usually to apply hot melt adhesive to the inner surface 21 of the base cup using an applicator, place the plastic bottle 1 on top of the hot melt adhesive, and fit the bottom part 11 thereon. Then, the upper end mouth portion 12 of the plastic bottle is pressed by the push rod 3 to press the bottom portion 12 of the plastic bottle and the inner surface 21 of the base cup into pressure contact.

At this time, the rod 5 with the stretchable elastic bag 4 attached to its tip is inserted through the mouth 12 of the plastic bottle with the elastic bag 4 contracted as shown by the dotted line 41, and the elastic bag 4 is inserted through the passage 51 inside the rod 5. The plastic bottle bottom 11 is made by feeding pressure into the bag 4 and inflating it as shown by the solid line 4.
is pressed from the inner surface to press against the upper surface 21 of the base cup 2. Since this pressing force acts on the bottom part 11 of the plastic bottle, even if the bottom part is thin and easily deformed, the pressing force of the push rod 3 is efficiently transmitted as a pressing force between the bottom part 11 and the base cup 2. be.

Here, the elastic bag 4 may be made of rubber or the like, but in short, any elastic bag 4 may be used as long as it shrinks when the internal pressure is released and can be inserted through the mouth 12 of the plastic bottle.

Even if the molten hot melt adhesive attached to the top surface 21 of the base cup is cooled and solidified, the heat transfers to the plastic bottle bottom 11 and softens it, making it easily deformable. It has the effect of not only pressing to prevent deformation but also cooling from the inside to prevent the bottom portion 11 from softening.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, according to the base cup attaching method of the present invention, a rod with a stretchable elastic bag attached to the tip is inserted through the mouth of a plastic bottle with the elastic bag contracted, and the rod is attached to the base cup. By injecting pressure fluid into the elastic bag through the elastic bag and inflating it, the bottom of the plastic bottle is pressed from the inside and comes into pressure contact with the base cup, so even if the bottom of the plastic bottle is thin, the bottom will not be deformed and the bottom will not deform. It can be attached to the base cup by pressure contact, and the rod can be inserted and removed freely even through the narrow mouth.Furthermore, even when attaching the base cup requires heating, it has an excellent effect of cooling the bottom from the inside to prevent it from softening. It is effective.
