Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve dimming for a small size and light-weighted spotlight at a low cost by controlling the phase of a commercial power source, and by performing dimming and lighting so as to obtain rated voltage of the lamp when the lamp application voltage is maximized. CONSTITUTION:In a lighting device 2, a condenser C3 for trigger is charged by resistance R3 as well as variable resistance VR, and through the actuation of a trigger device SBS, a triode AC switch (TRIAC) TR is triggered so as to electrify a lamp 1. The value of the resistance R3 is so determined as to obtain maximum output voltage when the value of the variable resistance VR is 0. Zener diodes ZD1, ZD2 are used for suppressing the variation of the output voltage when power source voltage is varied. For the wave shape of the voltage applied to the lamp 1, light adjustment can be executed in a range from thetato 0 through the variation in the variable resistance VR. Light adjustment can thus be done, and small size, light weight as well as inexpensiveness can thereby be achieved.

Conventional low-voltage spotlights as described above have the drawbacks of having a built-in step-down transformer, which makes them heavy, large, and expensive; even when an electronic transformer is used, they are large and expensive. Furthermore, since the light cannot be dimmed, it has the disadvantage that it cannot be used as a dimmable performance lighting. The present invention has been made in view of these points, and an object of the present invention is to provide a low voltage spotlight that is small, lightweight, inexpensive, and can be dimmed.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention controls the phase of a commercial power supply so that the voltage applied to the lamp becomes the rated voltage of the lamp at the maximum, and the lamp is dimmed and lit. (Function) The low-voltage spotlight configured as described above can use a low-voltage lamp with a commercial power supply, is dimmable, and can be made small, lightweight, and inexpensive. (Example) An example will be explained with reference to the drawings. In Figure 1,
The lamp 1 is connected to a commercial power source 3 by connecting a lighting device 2 in series, and the phase is controlled by the lighting device 2. For example, when the lamp 1 is 12V and 250W, the lighting device 2 has a maximum output voltage of 12V, and the O Allows dimming within the range of ~12v. That is, the lighting device 2 charges the trigger capacitor C3 with the resistor R5 and the variable resistor VR, triggers the triac TR by the operation of the trigger element SBS, and energizes the lamp 1. At this time, the value of the resistor R1 is set so that when the value of the variable resistor VR is O, the maximum output voltage is obtained. Capacitor C2 and choke CH form a noise filter,
The resistor R+ and the capacitor C2 are a snubber circuit, and the Zener diodes ZD1 and ZD are for suppressing fluctuations in the output voltage when the power supply voltage fluctuates. Therefore, the voltage waveform applied to the lamp 1 becomes as shown by diagonal lines in FIG. 2 when the variable resistor VR is O, and the light can be adjusted in the range from θ to O by changing the variable resistor VR. As shown in FIG. 3, the lamp 1 is installed in a case 4, a lighting device 2 is attached to the case 4, and connected to a commercial power source 3 through a power line 5, and dimming is performed through a dimming signal line 6.
