うに配設されており、これ等区画室A,B,Cが
拡張室となるように構成されている。更に、排気
導入管2のガス出口端22と対向するように仕切
板15にレゾネータパイプ5が設けており、第四
番目の区画室Dがレゾネータ室となるように構成

て、排気導入管を少なくとも一個の区画室を貫通
して第二番目以後の区画室にそのガス出口端を開
口すると共に、排気導入管の各区画室貫通部分に
多数の小孔を穿設し、排気導入管が貫通し又はそ
のガス出口端が開口した区画室を画成する仕切板
に夫々導管を設けてこれ等区画室を拡張室とし、
排気導出管を前記排気導入管のガス出口端が開口
した区画室内に貫入させると共に、排気導出管の
ガス入口端を閉塞し且つ前記貫入部分に多数の小
孔を穿設したものである。

画室A,Bを増加すれば、圧損の低減がより向上
することになるが、排気導入管2のガス出口端2
2に対向するようにレゾネータパイプ5を設けた
場合には、区画室A,Bの増加によつて第四番目
の区画室D(レゾネータ室)の共鳴機能が低下す
るため、図示のような二個の区画室A,Bとする
のが好ましい。又、このような排気ガスの流速の
徐々の低下は、端板11,12や仕切板13,1
4,15への負荷を低減し、振動や異音の発生防
止にも有効である。このように分流拡張された排
気ガスは導管6を通して第三番目の区画室Cで干
渉混合しさらに騒音減衰が為される。又、この間
急激な旋回がなされないため、排圧が上昇したり
気流音が高くなることはない。尚、第三番目の区
画室Cにおける前記干渉混合は、排気導出管3へ
の排気ガスの侵入が小孔33のみから為されるた
め、充分に行なわれることが期待されるが、好ま
しくは可能な限り小さな小孔33を可能な限り多
