Traditionally, wallpaper used for this type of purpose includes paper made from pulp with various colors and patterns printed on the surface using printing ink or foamed synthetic resin, as well as various woven fabrics. Alternatively, paper with knitted fabric pasted is often used.
However, since all of the above-mentioned wallpapers are simply printed or pasted onto a flat paper surface, they lack a three-dimensional effect, and the colors and patterns expressed on the paper surface are monotonous and appear flat. Of course, its texture and feel are hard and it cannot escape the flimsy feel that is characteristic of paper products. In terms of durability, since it is made of pulp, it has poor mechanical strength such as elongation and tear resistance. Initially, it had weaknesses in flame retardancy, mold resistance, heat insulation, and sound insulation, and during construction, it was difficult to absorb unevenness on walls with rough base materials.

The purpose of this invention is to have a structure that has a very soft and delicate feel and can express an elegant, harmonious, and dignified uneven pattern three-dimensionally, and has excellent mechanical strength and physical properties. The purpose of the present invention is to inexpensively produce a new wallpaper that can be easily installed even on rough wall surfaces using a relatively simple processing method.

This invention was developed to achieve the above object, and the method involves making paper using coniferous pulp as the main raw material, and forming fine compression wrinkles in the direction of paper movement in the paper making process. We use a base paper that has been given the property that its elongation in the direction is larger than that in the transverse direction, and after impregnating it with synthetic resin, drying it and embossing it, we apply a heat setting process to create the uneven shape of the paper surface. Then, the surface of the base paper is subjected to a flocking process in which piles are electrodeposited and flocked using an adhesive, followed by curing and quenching, and an inorganic antifungal agent and flame softener are applied to the back side of the base paper. A heat-retardant soft urethane foam having a thickness of at least 3 mm is attached by spraying a synthetic resin adhesive mixed with a filler and a filler.

In the case of the present invention, for the base paper 1 that is the main component of the wallpaper P, bleached and compressed kraft paper was used instead of ordinary Japanese paper or Western paper in order to improve mechanical strength against elongation and tearing. In this example, white cement bag paper manufactured by Tokai Pulp Co., Ltd. was used as the bleached and compressed kraft paper. Bleached and compressed kraft paper is produced by making softwood pulp (single fiber length 2.0 to 3.1 mm) using the KP method (kraft pulp method), which is a chemical pulping method, and finally using Krupak (registered trademark name) to increase elastic strength. )
It is manufactured by processing and drying. As shown in FIG. 4, the rubber blanket 5 passing over the nip roll 8 is
The outside of the rubber blanket 5 is compressed and stretched by the pressure of the nip roll 8 at the place where it comes into contact with the wet paper 6, and at the same time the wet paper 6 is strongly pressed against the surface of the dryer drum 7. At this time, the wet paper 6 is in close contact with one rubber blanket 5, but it slips on the other dryer drum 7 surface, and at the same time the rubber blanket 5 returns to its original size, the wet paper also expands and contracts, and the paper In this process, fine compression wrinkles are formed in the direction of paper travel.

Therefore, since the base paper 1 produced in this manner has compression wrinkles formed in the direction in which the paper travels, it is given the characteristic that its elongation in the longitudinal direction is entirely larger than that in the transverse direction.

A predetermined coloring and printing pattern is printed on the surface of the base paper 1 in advance by means such as gravure printing, and a thermoplastic synthetic resin such as a melamine resin and a halogen flame retardant are applied to the base paper 1 in the form of an aqueous emulsion. impregnated with water and dried at a temperature of 80 to 100°C using a heated cylinder or the like. The base paper 1 that has been subjected to the above treatment is then passed between vertically opposed heated rollers having concave and convex portions for pattern imprinting, to form various embossed patterns on the paper surface as shown in the figure. After forming 2, it is baked at a temperature of 300 to 350℃ for about 5 seconds using a gas burner, and then heated to a temperature of 100 to 110℃ using a water-cooled cylinder, etc.
The embossed pattern 2 on the paper surface is modified to be hard and stable by rapidly cooling it to a temperature of 0.degree. C., and at the same time, moisture and solvent are prevented from penetrating from the back surface of the base paper 1 to the front surface.

Once the processing of the base paper 1 is completed in this way, the next step is to apply an acrylic or vinyl acetate synthetic resin adhesive to the entire uneven surface of the base paper 1 using a roll coater or the like, and then apply an electrostatic It is sent to a coating device (not shown), and a flocking process is performed in which cut pile 3 (other than metals is colored by dyeing or other means) is electro-deposited on natural fibers, synthetic fibers, metals, etc. using electrostatic electricity, and then applied to the surface of base paper 1. After attaching pile 3, introduce it into the curing furnace.
A heat setting process is performed in which the material is heated at a temperature of 120±5°C for approximately 3 minutes, and then cooled to room temperature by passing through a water-cooled cylinder.

Then, on the back side of the base paper 1, an acrylic or vinyl acetate synthetic resin adhesive mixed with an inorganic fungicide, a flame retardant, and a filler such as talc or aluminum hydroxide is applied by spraying or other means. After coating and pasting a flame-retardant soft urethane foam 4 with a thickness of at least 3 mm or more (5 mm in this example) on the back side, the finished product is dried at room temperature and wound up on a roller as a product.

As described above, if the method of the present invention is applied to the production of wallpaper, the main base paper will be made of soft pulp and will have full length elongation in the longitudinal direction of the paper, which is the direction in which the paper travels during the production process. Compression wrinkles are formed that give greater properties in the horizontal direction than in the horizontal direction, so even if deep embossing is performed during the manufacturing process where tension is applied in the direction of travel, the paper fibers will not be destroyed. Coupled with the heat setting process in which the base paper is impregnated with synthetic tree sap beforehand, the wallpaper not only has excellent mechanical strength against stretching and tearing, but also has a sharp embossed pattern with sharp irregularities on the paper surface. In addition, the uneven surface of the base paper is treated with a flocking process in which various cut piles are electrodeposited using electrostatic coating, so it is not monotonous like conventional embossed paper or flocked paper. Unlike traditional textured surfaces or flocked surfaces, it is now possible to produce a completely unique wallpaper with a three-dimensional textured surface that changes significantly on the surface of the paper, and a very soft feel and shadow. The flocked surface has excellent water resistance and shape stability due to the synthetic resin processing and heat setting processing applied before and after embossing and flocking, so it does not easily deteriorate or lose its shape. It can retain its beautiful shape and qualities semi-permanently.

In addition, in the case of the present invention, a synthetic resin adhesive mixed with an inorganic fungicide, a flame retardant, and a filler is further sprayed on the back side of the base paper subjected to the above processing, and the adhesive is at least 3 mm thick. Since it is attached with a flame-retardant soft urethane foam, it exhibits very elegant performance in terms of not only heat insulation and soundproofing, but also flame retardancy and mold resistance. It skillfully absorbs the unevenness of even rough walls and can always be applied correctly and in a beautiful state, which, together with the fact that the manufacturing cost of the wallpaper itself is low, makes it ideal for use.
