Conventionally, as an image forming apparatus using a belt-shaped photosensitive material, for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 50-87332 and Japanese Patent Laid-open No. 55
There is one shown in the -52082 publication. In both cases, a charger, exposure section, developing machine,
Transfer devices, etc. were arranged in sequence, and after the belt-shaped sensitive material was charged with a charger, it was imagewise exposed in an exposure section to form an electrostatic latent image, and the electrostatic latent image was developed into a visible image with a developing machine. The image is later transferred to paper using a transfer device, but the exposure section is either placed on the member (roll) that supports the belt-shaped photosensitive material, or is placed between the members that support the belt-shaped photosensitive material. It's different. The former method is on a member with a large curvature, that is, a roll, so the exposure area cannot be made large (long), so the original is scanned with slit light to sequentially form slit-shaped exposed images on the photosensitive material. , only the so-called slit exposure method can be applied, and scanning requires time, making it unsuitable for high-speed copying. On the other hand, the latter method uses a flat portion of a belt-shaped photosensitive material, so the exposure area can be made large (long), and the entire document can be exposed instantly, making it suitable for high-speed copying.

The present invention is directed to the latter type of image forming apparatus that uses a flat portion of a belt-like photosensitive material as an exposure area, that is, an image forming apparatus.

In such an image forming apparatus, each of the above-mentioned operations is performed while moving the belt-shaped photosensitive material. However, since the belt-shaped photosensitive material uses a plastic film or the like as a support, the belt-shaped photosensitive material itself has a vertical and horizontal direction ( Although the flat part of the belt-shaped photosensitive material is used, these undulations remain, and when the belt-shaped photosensitive material moves through the area facing the exposed area, that is, the exposed area, the undulations occur. If there,
Since the belt-shaped sensitive material cannot be uniformly exposed to light, the electrostatic latent image is distorted, making it impossible to obtain a correct image.

Therefore, in order to prevent waving and obtain flatness in the exposed area of the belt-shaped sensitive material, the tension of the belt-shaped sensitive material is increased.

A flat plate with holes is brought into contact with the back side of the belt-shaped photosensitive material, and suction force is applied through the holes to attract the belt-shaped photosensitive material to the flat plate, and air is sent through the holes to maintain a specified endless belt flatness.

However, if the first method is applied, strong tension is applied, which may cause the belt-shaped photosensitive material to break. Also, simply increasing the tension does not prevent waviness in the width direction, and the flatness of the belt-shaped photosensitive material is insufficient. Not.

Although the second method prevents waving in the contact area, this area is narrow and cannot ensure a flat surface necessary for the exposure area.

With the third method, even if tension is applied to the belt, the force that presses the belt against the flat plate will only act on the corners of both sides of the flat plate, and waving at those parts can be prevented. In between, it is not very effective.

The present invention was made in view of the above circumstances, and its purpose is to prevent waving when a belt-shaped sensitive material passes through an exposed area, and to maintain flatness in the exposed area within an allowable range. Along with being able to

FIG. 1 is a schematic explanatory diagram of a copying machine, in which a belt-shaped sensitive material 3 is movably stretched across a driving roll 1 and a driven roll 2, and a charger 4 is placed around the belt-shaped sensitive material 3. , developing machine 5, transfer machine 6, static eliminator 7,
The cleaners 8 are sequentially disposed, and a region B of a predetermined length between the charger 4 and the developing device 5 becomes an exposure region, and an exposure region consisting of a lens 9, a plantain 10, etc. is provided at an upper position in this exposure region B. The belt-like sensitive material 3 passing through the exposure area B is exposed to the original image on the plantain 10 through the lens 9, thereby forming an electrostatic latent image.

Because of this, when the belt-shaped sensitive material 3 passes through the exposure area B, if it is in a wavy state, the original image will not be properly irradiated and exposed, and the electrostatic latent image will be distorted, making it impossible to obtain a correct image.

Therefore, a convex plate 20 is provided in the exposure area B, and its convex surface 20a is used as the back surface 3a of the belt-shaped photosensitive material 3.

The convex plate 20 has the same width as the belt-shaped photosensitive material 3, the convex surface 20a is an arcuate surface with a predetermined curvature, and the height (curvature) of the convex surface 20a is equal to the allowable height H 1 of the belt-shaped photosensitive material 3. (maximum allowable undulation), and the length L1 is the same as the length of the exposure area B (the length of the required area).

Therefore, the undulation of the belt-shaped photosensitive material 3 when passing through the exposure area is caused by the convex surface 20a of the convex plate 20.
, and its surface shape follows the convex surface 20a. In addition, at this time, the belt-shaped photosensitive material 3
It is even more effective if an appropriate tension is applied to it.

Therefore, when the belt-shaped photosensitive material 3 passes through the exposure area B, it is prevented from waving and maintained at the required flatness, so that the original image can be exposed correctly and a correct image can be obtained.

By the way, the length of the exposure area B (convex plate 2
The relationship between the required allowable height H 1 of the belt-shaped sensitive material 3 and the curvature (radius) R of the convex surface 20a is R=H 1 2 + (L 1 /2) 2 / It is expressed as 2H 1 . For example, L 1 = 124mm, H 1 = 0.5mm
In this case, the curvature R should be 3844.25 mm.

The required flatness of the belt-shaped photosensitive material 3 is as follows:
It depends on the depth of focus of the optical lens used in the copying machine, and when the depth of focus is shallow, the required flatness becomes stricter (smaller). Furthermore, the depth of focus differs depending on the brightness (F number) of the lens determined by the power constraints of the copying machine, or the angle of view determined by the dimensional conditions of the copying machine (determined by the maximum original size and focal length of the lens). The brighter the lens, the shallower the depth of focus, and the larger the angle of view, the shallower the depth of focus.

In FIG. 3, 21, 22, 23 are flat plates 20
The first, second, and third shaft rods are curved, and the first and third shaft rods 21 and 23 are pressed against the bent portions 20b and 20b at both ends of the flat plate 20 with bolts 24, and the second shaft rod 22 is bent into the flat plate. 20, and press it against the middle part of the flat plate 20.
is curved to a predetermined curvature. Also,
As shown in FIG. 4, a plurality of holes 25 are bored in the convex plate 20 to reduce the contact area with the back surface 3a of the belt-like sensitive material 3.
The contact friction force with a may be reduced.

In the present invention as described above, when the belt-shaped sensitive material 3 passes through the exposure area B, the back surface 3a comes into sliding contact with the convex surface 20a of the convex plate 20, so that the belt-shaped sensitive material 3 is prevented from waving and has a flat surface. is maintained, and an electrostatic latent image can be formed through correct image exposure, resulting in a correct image.

Further, since the convex plate 20 is simply pressed against the back surface 3a of the belt-shaped photosensitive material 3, the cost is low and no noise is generated.
