光コネクタの出現が要望されている。(b) Background of the technology The connection of optical fibers used in optical communication equipment, etc. is a connection in which the terminal coating of the optical fiber is peeled off by a predetermined length and the exposed optical fibers are butt-bonded, for example, in a V-groove on a table. There is a connection in which optical fibers are butted together and welded together, and there is another connection in which a plug and a jack are respectively attached to the terminals of the optical fibers, and the plug and the jack are connected. However, since the optical connector that screws the plug and jack together uses a cap nut, it is a cumbersome operation to attach and detach, and the characteristics change depending on the tightening condition. There is a demand for an optical connector with good performance.

た。 After the end coating of the optical fiber 4 to be connected is slightly peeled off to expose the core wire 41, the optical fiber 4 is inserted into the plug 2 equipped with the cap nut 3, and the core wire 41 of the optical fiber 4 and the core wire 41 of the optical fiber 4 are inserted into the plug 2 equipped with the cap nut 3. The plug 2 and the optical fiber 4 are connected so that the tips of the plug 2 and the optical fiber 4 are aligned with each other.
After fixing with adhesive or the like, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the cap nut 3 provided on the plug 2 is screwed into both threaded portions 12 of the adapter 1 fixed to the wall 5 etc. , an optical fiber 4 attached to the plug 2 is connected thereto. However, the plug 2 is attached to the adapter 1 in a direction perpendicular to the wall 5, and therefore, when the bending radius of the optical fiber 4 and the like are taken into consideration, the mounting dimensions become large. As is well known, the optical fiber 4 cannot be bent at right angles, unlike metal conductive wires, and it is desirable to make the bending radius relatively large. Therefore, if you try to install it parallel to the wall 5, you will need parts to attach the adapter 1, and the cap nut 3 will be difficult to operate. There was a problem with that.

A knob is provided in the optical axis direction of the protruding portion of the plug, and an inclined surface is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the protruding portion connected to the knob to provide a rotary pressure contact function, and the plug can be inserted into the adapter. This is achieved by providing an elastic sleeve with a groove formed therein and a presser plate that presses the plug inserted into the sleeve.

The optical fiber 4 to be connected is inserted into a plug 6 made of a molded product or the like by partially peeling off the end coating of the optical fiber 4 and aligning the core wire 41 with the tip of the ferrule 62. The plug 6 is fixed with adhesive or the like. The plug 6 to which the optical fiber 4 is fixed is attached to the sluice 7 of the adapter 7, which is made of an elastic synthetic resin molded product having a sleeve 71 provided with a groove 711 and a presser plate 72 formed at both ends.
1 in the direction of arrow A, and then rotate the knob 63 by 90 degrees to the left or right as shown in FIG.
The inclined surface 64 formed at 1 rotates against the elasticity of the adapter holding plate 72. i.e. plug 6
are pushed in the direction of arrow B, so that the connection can be made by aligning the optical fibers 4 inserted oppositely. Note that the protrusion inclined surface 6 of the plug 6 corresponds to the T shown in the adapter 7.
The dimension t' excluding 4 is slightly small as t' = T - Δt', and the total length t of the protrusion 61 of the plug 6 is t = T + Δt
It is formed to be slightly larger.
