Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent shrink of a tip of recording paper due to backlash or the like in a recording paper drive mechanism by opening a recording paper cover and then closing it to apply idle feeding of recording paper. CONSTITUTION:When a recording paper cover 5 is opened in the reception standby state and then closed, a drive signal is sent for a short time to a recording paper drive motor to feed recording paper 6 by 2mm and the mode is restored to the reception standby state. Since an idle of gears due to backlash is eliminated by the idle feeding of the recording paper, the recording paper is normally sent from the start of recording in the succeeding recording of the reception.

(Prior Art) Conventionally, in a facsimile machine, the cover of the recording paper may be opened in order to replace the recording paper, deal with a paper jam, check the remaining amount of recording paper, etc.

FIG. 1 shows an example of a recording paper drive system. In this example, the recording paper is the recording head 1 and the printing roller 2.
The platen roller 2 is driven by a drive gear 3 coupled to a motor shaft via several intermediate gears. It is well known that backlash exists in a gear train consisting of the drive gear 3, the intermediate gear, and the gear coupled to the platen roller 2. Therefore, when the recording paper cover is opened or closed, the recording paper may become loose due to this pack rush or the like.

The situation will be explained with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4. In the figure, 1 is a recording head, 2 is a platen roller, 4 is a main body case of the facsimile machine, 5 is an upper case, 6 is a recording paper, and 7 is a recording paper roll. In this example, the upper case also serves as a recording paper cover, and supports the recording head 1 by an appropriate mechanism.

As shown in FIG. 4, the recording paper 6 is held between the recording heads 1 and driven by the platen roller 2 while being recorded. As mentioned above, when the upper case, which is the recording paper cover, is opened to replace the recording paper, the tension of the recording paper as shown in Fig. 4 is released, and the pack rush of the gear train described above causes the recording to be interrupted. The paper 6 becomes slack as shown in FIG.

Even if the recording paper cover is closed and the slack in the recording paper is taken up, at the beginning of recording, due to the backlash of the gear train, the recording paper cannot be fed normally for the first few mm. I can't.

Therefore, as shown in FIG. 6, there is a problem in that the leading portion of the recording becomes clogged, making it impossible to record a clear received image.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned circumstances, and allows clear recording by feeding the recording paper normally even immediately after the recording paper cover is opened and closed. It was done for the purpose of doing something.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention provides a method for setting recording paper in a facsimile machine, in which a recording paper drive means is controlled based on a closing operation signal from an opening/closing detection means that detects a closing operation of a recording paper cover. It is characterized by feeding paper by several millimeters.

(Embodiment) As described above, FIG. 1 shows an example of a recording paper drive mechanism, but the recording paper setting method of the present invention can be applied to these conventional drive mechanisms.

In other words, with the recording paper cover closed, hold the recording paper for several meters.
Perform a blank feed of about m. The idle feed eliminates play in the gear train due to backlash, so the recording paper is
The state shown in the figure is reached, and when recording subsequent receptions, the recording paper can be fed normally from the beginning of recording. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 5, the received image is not clogged even at the beginning of the recording, resulting in a clear image.

FIG. 2 is a flowchart for explaining one embodiment of the present invention. In the start state, if the recording paper cover is not opened, the flow ends and a normal standby state is entered, and if a facsimile signal is received, reception is performed according to the procedure. When the recording paper cover is opened in the reception standby state, the process moves from Step 1 to Step 2.
Wait for the recording paper cover to close. When the recording paper cover is closed, the process moves to Step 3, where a short drive signal is sent to the recording paper drive motor, the recording paper is advanced by 2 mm, the flow is ended, and the process returns to the reception standby state.

Note that although we have explained how to open the paper cover in reception standby mode, if you turn off the power to the facsimile machine, open the paper cover, turn on the power, and then close the paper cover, you can also open the paper using the same flow. Free feeding is possible.

(Effects of the Invention) As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, in a facsimile machine, when the recording paper cover is opened and then closed, by feeding the recording paper repeatedly,
This has the effect that it is possible to prevent shrinkage at the leading portion of the recording due to pack rush in the recording paper drive mechanism, and to obtain a clear received image.
