記録媒体上から反射される前記サイドビームに応
じた反射光からトラツキングエラー信号を抽出す
るトラツキングエラー信号抽出手段と、 光源からの光ビームを回折して前記センタービ
ーム及び前記サイドビームを出射する回折手段と
、 前記回折手段の回転を検出して第1の信号を出
力する検出手段と、 前記第1の信号と、前記トラツキングエラー信
号抽出手段から得た前記トラツキングエラー信号
及び光ピツクアツプの前記記録媒体の半径方向へ
の移送位置に応じた位置割り付け信号に応じた第
2の信号との差の信号を用いて、光軸に対する前
記回折手段の回転角度を調整する調整手段とを有
し、 前記差の信号が零になると前記調整手段の動作
が停止されることにより、前記記録媒体上におけ
る前記センタービームの走査方向と前記サイドビ
ームの照射により形成されたスポツト光とが成す
トラツクオフセツト角度が常時所定値を保持する
