Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform leveling as properties of surface finish are held by sticking a protective film on the surface of a steel strip and passing a leveling device on it. CONSTITUTION:The protective film is stuck on the surface of a stainless cold rolled steel strip and the treated strip is passed through the leveling device. The thickness of the protective film is, preferably, 30-200mu. When the thickness is excessively thin, the protective action for the surface does not work and when it is excessively thick, the leveling effect is damaged. Drastic effect is produced on the cold rolled steel strip subjected to dull finish, polishing finish, BA finish and good surface properties can be held by a simple method.

At the final stage of this cold-rolled steel strip manufacturing process, if it is necessary to produce a cold-rolled steel strip with a better shape of flatness, or by continuously cutting the cold-rolled steel strip to produce cold-rolled steel sheets with predetermined dimensions. When manufacturing, leveling work is performed to correct the shape.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] When a cold rolled stainless steel strip passes through a leveling device, the surface of the steel strip is pressed by a metal leveler roll, so metal contact may occur or the surface of the cold rolled stainless steel strip may Especially in the case of 2B finished products, which account for the majority of finishes, the surface quality is hardly impaired.

However, in the case of stainless steel cold-rolled steel strips whose surfaces are dull-finished using dull rolls in the rolling process, the convex portions of the surface irregularities are pressed against the leveler rolls, resulting in a glossy appearance, resulting in a glossy overall appearance. A phenomenon occurs in which the aesthetic appearance of the eraser is impaired. Up until now, many dull-finish products were ultimately used after being painted, so this did not pose a problem, but recently, as they have been increasingly used unpainted as exterior materials for building materials and vehicle materials, the aesthetics have become a problem. This started to cause problems.

In addition, the surface was polished to No. 1 by belt polishing. When a cold-rolled stainless steel strip with a polished finish such as 4 or HL finish is passed through a leveler, the grinding debris adhering to the surface of the steel plate will adhere to the leveler roll, creating continuous indentation scratches on the surface of the steel strip. The problem is that cases often occur.

In addition, in the case of BA finished products with extremely smooth surfaces and extremely high surface gloss, if minute airborne particles on the steel strip surface adhere to the leveler roll and cause small indentation scratches, r3A finish may occur. Due to the two products, conspicuous defects often occurred.

[Means for Solving the Problems 1] As a method for solving the above-mentioned problems, the present inventors have investigated various methods that are simple and have remarkable effects without involving large-scale equipment modification. It has been discovered that by passing the plate through a leveling device while it is attached to the surface, a cold-rolled stainless steel strip with good surface quality can be obtained without impairing the leveling effect.

That is, the present invention is a method for leveling a cold-rolled stainless steel strip, which is characterized by pasting a protective film on the surface of the cold-rolled stainless steel strip and passing the film through a leveling device.

[Function 1] The protective film used in the present invention is a synthetic resin film such as vinyl chloride or polyethylene with an acrylic or rubber adhesive coated on one side.

The thickness of the protective film is preferably about 30 to 200 microns, because if it is too thin, the protective effect of the convex portions on the dull surface and the effect of preventing indentation scratches will be lost, and if it is too thick, the leveling effect of the steel strip will be impaired. The material of the film itself is not particularly limited, but vinyl chloride and polyethylene are preferred from the economic point of view.

If the adhesive strength of the protective film to the stainless steel strip is too weak, the protective film will tend to get wrinkled when passing through leveling, and if it is too strong, it will be difficult to remove the protective film when removing the protective film after leveling. Inconveniences may occur, such as making it difficult to remove the protective film or leaving adhesive on the surface of the steel strip after removing the protective film. Therefore, it is necessary to select a protective film with appropriate adhesive strength depending on the surface finish and thickness of the cold-rolled stainless steel strip.

The method of attaching the protection film to the stainless steel strip can be easily carried out using a simple device that continuously attaches the coiled protective film to the surface of the stainless steel strip while unwinding it.

[Example] Example 1 A plate with a thickness of 1.0 mm was given a barrel finish surface with an average roughness of about 1.2 μm in the rolling process. Using a 5 mm SUS304 cold rolled stainless steel strip, a vinyl chloride protective film with a thickness of 120 μm was attached to the surface of the steel strip, and then leveling was performed using a roller leveler.
