FIG. 2a is a partially cutaway sectional view showing the conventional sound absorbing structure for an engine room. As shown in the figure, the conventional sound absorbing structure has a structure in which a porous sound absorbing material 2, such as glass wool, having a large number of small holes 2a on a substrate 1 is covered with an aluminum foil 3.

However, in the above conventional example, in order to prevent a fire from occurring in the engine room, the porous sound-absorbing material that easily absorbs fuel must be covered with aluminum foil, and the sound-absorbing material is covered with aluminum foil, which is non-porous. There was a problem in that the covering reduced the sound absorbing effect of the sound absorbing material. Figure 2b is a diagram showing its sound absorption coefficient characteristics. As shown in the figure, the sound absorption coefficient peaks around a specific frequency point P0 , but before and after that the sound absorption coefficient decreases, and the sound absorption effect as a whole becomes less effective. The drawback is that it does not improve.

In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a porous sound absorbing material such as glass wool on a substrate, and the outer peripheral surface of the porous sound absorbing material is made of a porous material such as a fluorine resin. It has a sound-absorbing structure for the engine room covered with a water-repellent and waterproof surface coating made of film material.

By configuring the engine room sound absorbing structure as described above, the porous sound absorbing material is covered with a highly water-repellent porous film, so that the sound absorption coefficient characteristics are significantly improved. Furthermore, since the film covering the sound absorbing material has water repellency, it eliminates liquids such as fuel that enter from the outside, making it excellent in terms of fires in the engine room, etc.

Note that the same parts as in FIG. 2 are given the same reference numerals, and the explanation thereof will be omitted. As shown in the figure, the sound absorbing structure for an engine room according to the present invention is constructed by laminating the outer surface of the porous sound absorbing material 2 on the substrate 1 with a porous film 4, which will be described later. This porous film 4 is formed into a film shape using approximately 100% fluororesin as a material, and the porous film 4 has countless pores 4a with a diameter of approximately 0.6 microns per cm 2 . (For example, hundreds of millions of pieces) are formed. Fluorine-based resins have excellent heat resistance and fire resistance among solid substances, and also have extremely high water repellency, repelling liquids such as water and fuel in the form of beads.
These liquids 5 are prevented from entering the porous sound absorbing material 2. Furthermore, it is known to have a high water resistance of 2000 mm or more according to the JIS standard measurement method.

Therefore, when the porous sound-absorbing material 2 is covered with the water-repellent and porous film 4, water, fuel, etc. will not enter the porous sound-absorbing material 2 due to the water-repellent action of the film 4; Since the porous sound absorbing material 2 is also porous, the high sound absorption coefficient characteristics of the porous sound absorbing material 2 can always be maintained constant. FIG. 1b is a diagram showing its sound absorption coefficient characteristics, showing normal improvement in sound absorption coefficient up to a certain frequency point P1 , and thereafter maintaining high sound absorption coefficient characteristics over a wide frequency range.

As explained in detail above, according to the sound absorbing structure for an engine room according to the present invention, the outer peripheral surface of the porous sound absorbing material is made of a porous film material made of a material such as a fluorine-based resin, and has water repellency. Since it is covered with a waterproof surface film, its sound absorption properties are greatly improved. Moreover, since the film is waterproof and porous, it has the excellent effect of preventing water, fuel, etc. from entering from the outside.
