Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an optimum terminal attribute without using a protocol set between a host computer and a terminal by using an address correspondence table and a terminal attribute deciding means. CONSTITUTION:The terminal attributes are decided on an address correspondence table 15 for each address range of a communication circuit 2. A terminal deciding means 17 receives the information on the address of a telegram received from a control means 13 via a terminal 3 and searches a terminal table 16 which stores the informed address. If the table to be searched is not obtained, an access is given to the table 15. Thus a new table 16 is produced based on the address of the telegram received via the terminal 3 and the table 15. As a result, an optimum attribute is obtained at a terminal with no protocol available between a host computer and the terminal when a telegram is received from a terminal whose address is undefined.
