Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately manage the residual capacity of a battery of a mobile station by counting the charge/discharge current of a charging type battery of the mobile station, correction the counted value with a terminal voltage detection value and controlling the charging current or displaying a battery residual capacity with the corrected counted value. CONSTITUTION:When a mobile station 2 is in use, since circuits 10, 11, 15 for talking, radio communication and control, etc., are operated, a charging type battery 14 is worn out, a counting circuit 25 is counted down and the counted value is sent to a correction circuit 26. Moreover, a detection circuit 19 detects always the terminal voltage of the battery 14, sends the information to the circuit 26 and the counted value of the circuit 25 is corrected by a terminal voltage detected by the circuit 19 and the result is sent to the control circuit 15. The circuit 15 applies capacity management based on the corrected counted value to control a charge current control circuit 28 in the case of charging the battery 14 to control the charging current. Moreover, a display means 27 is controlled to light the LEDs of the number corresponding to the correction counted value to display the residual capacity of the battery 14 quantitatively.

In this embodiment, the same parts as those in the conventional example described above are given the same reference numerals, and the explanation thereof will be omitted, and the different configuration will be explained. In FIG. 1, 25 is a circuit that counts the charging/discharging current value of the rechargeable battery 14, 26 is a correction circuit, and the terminal voltage of the rechargeable battery 14 detected by the detection circuit 19 is the count value counted by the counting circuit 25. The information on the corrected count value is corrected by the control circuit 15.

Since the rechargeable battery 14 is charged by bringing the contact 16 of the mobile station 2 into contact with the contact 8 of the base station 1 or the contact 23 of the charger 21, the count circuit 25 counts up. On the other hand, when the mobile station 2 is used, when the power switch 13 is turned on and the communication circuit 10, radio circuit 11, control circuit 15, etc. are operated, the rechargeable battery 14 is consumed.
Count circuit 25 counts down. In this manner, the count circuit 25 counts the charging and discharging current values of the rechargeable battery 14 and sends the value to the correction circuit 26. In addition, rechargeable battery 14
The detection circuit 19 constantly detects the terminal voltage of and sends the information to the correction circuit 26. In the correction circuit 26, the count circuit 2
The count value counted in step 5 is corrected by the terminal voltage value detected by the detection circuit 19.

That is, even though the terminal voltage value detected by the detection circuit 19 is a voltage value indicating a fully charged state of the rechargeable battery 14, if the count value of the counter circuit 25 is smaller than that value, the count value is added. Even though the terminal voltage value detected by the detection circuit 19 is a voltage value indicating a reduced voltage state of the rechargeable battery 14, if the count value of the count circuit 25 is larger than that value, the count value is subtracted. Information on this corrected count value is sent to the control circuit 15. This control circuit 15 performs capacity management based on the corrected count value. That is, when charging the rechargeable battery 14, the charging current control circuit 28 is controlled to control the charging current. Therefore, since the charging current can be controlled with high precision, the rechargeable battery 14 can be charged in a short time, and overcharging can be prevented. It also controls the display means 27 to turn on the number of LEDs corresponding to the corrected count information, thereby quantitatively displaying the remaining capacity of the rechargeable battery 14. Therefore, convenience in use can be achieved.

Further, when the call is continued, the wireless circuit 11, as described above,
As the call circuit 10 and control circuit 15 continue to operate, the rechargeable battery 14 is consumed, and this information is sent to the control circuit 15. Therefore, if you want to know the remaining capacity of the rechargeable battery 14 during a call, press the key switch. The control circuit 15 may be operated by the above operation, and the display means 27 may be controlled in the same manner as described above to quantitatively display the number of LEDs corresponding to the corrected count information for a certain period of time. At this time, due to use, L
The number of ED lights has decreased compared to when the call started. Further, when the number of LEDs lit is one, it is also possible to display a reduced voltage display using light or sound. Also,
By setting the display time to a constant time of about several seconds, unnecessary consumption of the rechargeable battery 14 can be prevented.

A temperature sensor as a detection means is attached to the surface of the rechargeable battery 14, and when the correction circuit 26 corrects the count value obtained by the count circuit 25 with the terminal voltage value obtained by the detection circuit 19, the temperature sensor is used as a detection means. By adding information about the temperature of the rechargeable battery 14, the outside temperature and the rechargeable battery 14
Since it is possible to manage the capacity by correcting the influence of variations in the charging current, it is possible to control the charging current and display the remaining capacity of the rechargeable battery 14 more accurately.
