た問題点があつた。又このように上部電極3の径
を小径にすると、上部電極3の摩耗が激しくなる
ため、上部電極3を頻繁に取替えねばならないと
いつた問題点もあつた。

メールAの筒状部Bより小径で、かつ、先端が筒
状部Bの底部と接触する小径部16aが設けてあ
り、又上部には通常のスポツト溶接ガンの上部電
極が接触できる平坦部16bが設けてあるる。

ると同時にホツクメールAの筒状部Bの底部を、
専用電極16の小径部16aの先端に接触させ
る。次に、支持アーム11を図中時計方向に回動
させ、第1図に示す如く第2の位置決め部材13
によつて保持された状態にあるホツクメールAの
フランジ部CをフロアパネルDに接触させること
により、ホツクメールAをフロアパネルD上に位
置決めする。次に、第2図に示す如く通常のスポ
ツト溶接ガンの上部電極20を専用電極16の平
坦部16bに、又下部電極21をフロアパネルD
の下面にそれぞれ圧接させる。そしてこの状態で
専用電極16を介してスポツト溶接ガンの上部電
極20と下部電極21間に通電することにより、
ホツクメールAをフロアパネルDにスポツト溶接
する。後は、スポツト溶接ガンの上部電極20
を専用電極16から、又下部電極21をフロアパ
ネルDから離し、この状態で支持アーム11を図
中反時計方向に回動させ、ホツクメールAの筒状
部Bから第2の位置決め部材13を離脱させれば
よい。尚、溶接作業により専用電極16の小径部
16aが摩耗した時は、専用電極16のみを取替
えればよい。又上記実施例は本考案に係る溶接装
置10によりホツクメールAをスポツト溶接する
例について説明したが、本考案はホツクメールA
以外の他の有底筒状をした小径部材のスポツト溶
接にも適用できる。
