Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the danger of misirradiation caused by forgetting to turn off an irradiation preparing switch and to achieve power saving by cutting off the irradiation preparing switch after a predetermined time is elapsed from the point of time when brightness changes. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 4, a light detection circuit 5, a holding circuit 6 and an irradiation preparing switch 7 are provided to a control box 1 and a laser oscillation stop switch, a laser beam irradiation preparing switch and a wavelength selection switch are also provided thereto. When operation is completed and the brightness of an operating room becomes usual one and a laser beam coagulation apparatus is not used, the light detection circuit 5 is turned ON to output a reset signal R to the holding circuit 6. The holding circuit 6 turns an irradiation preparing signal OFF after the elapse of a predetermined time. By this constitution, it is eliminated to forget to turn off the irradiation preparing switch 7 and the danger of misirradiation is removed and power saving is achieved by turning the irradiation preparing switch OFF at an unnecessary time.

Therefore, when used in a manual darkroom, the light detection circuit 5 does not output the reset signal R to the hold circuit 6. The irradiation preparation switch 7 is turned on during surgery or treatment. When this switch 7 is turned on, the irradiation preparation signal is held and input to the control circuit 4.

The hold circuit 6 turns off the irradiation preparation signal after a predetermined period of time has elapsed. The reason why we turned it off after a predetermined period of time was because the operating room may be brightened and then darkened again to restart the surgery if necessary, was taken into account. This prevents the irradiation preparation signal from being turned off immediately after it becomes bright. Note that the medical light emitting device of the present invention is not limited to photocoagulation devices, but can also be applied to laser scalpels and the like.

Effects of the Invention According to this invention, by using the change in brightness that occurs when a darkened room is returned to normal brightness after surgery or treatment, it is possible to prevent forgetting to turn off the irradiation equipment switch. It is possible to eliminate the risk of erroneous irradiation without accidentally pressing the switch, and to save power by turning off the irradiation preparation switch when it is not needed.
