For example, Japanese Utility Model Application No. 59-106749 discloses a method of covering miscellaneous items placed in the lower part of the luggage compartment and preserving the aesthetic appearance of the interior of the vehicle in a vehicle in which the passenger compartment and luggage compartment are integrated. It may be equipped with a roll-up tonneau cover device as shown in . This conventional tonneau cover device has a winding device installed at a predetermined height position at the front-rear end of the luggage compartment, such as the back of the seat back of the rear seat, and a winding device that has a width approximately equal to the width of the luggage compartment, and The device is equipped with a flexible tonneau cover that can be rolled up and stored on a winding roll in the device, and can be pulled out. The winding roll is always urged in the winding direction by a spring, and a hook is attached to the tip of the tonneau cover. As a result, when the tip of the rolled-up and stored tonneau cover is pulled out from the winding device and the tip hook is hung on the rear wall of the cargo compartment, a sheet-like tonneau cover is placed between the front and rear ends of the cargo compartment. It looks like it's stretched out and can hide miscellaneous items placed at the bottom of the luggage compartment. On the other hand, since the tonneau cover is pulled into the winding device when it is not needed, there is no need to find a place to store it when it is not needed, unlike a so-called package tray.

By the way, as mentioned above, the tonneau cover device has the advantage of being able to cover the lower space of the luggage compartment to maintain the aesthetic appearance of the vehicle interior and not having to worry about where to store it when it is not needed. When the vehicle is in use, it is not possible to place luggage on its top surface, and the luggage compartment space cannot be used effectively. That is, the tonneau cover is basically formed of a flexible sheet, and when in use, the base end of the tonneau cover is elastically stretched by the winding roll of the winding device, thereby changing its tension state. This is because there is not enough tension to stably place objects not only in the width direction but also in the front and back directions. This invention was devised under the above circumstances, and is a tonneau cover that takes advantage of the fact that it can be rolled up and stored, while also allowing luggage to be stably placed on the top surface when in use. Its task is to provide equipment.

When the tip of the tonneau cover in the stowed state is pulled, the tonneau cover wound up in the winding device is pulled out in the front-rear direction against the winding force, and becomes in use, covering the lower space of the luggage compartment. . In the present invention, a telescopic support mechanism comprising two or more link members pin-joined to be foldable in a plane substantially parallel to the pulled-out tonneau cover supports the tip of the tonneau cover and the winding device or the winding device. Since it is connected and interposed between the support members, it is linked to the above-mentioned operation of pulling out the tonneau cover.
The telescopic support mechanism in the folded state is extended. When the tip of the tonneau cover is fixed to the cargo compartment wall, the support mechanism stretched as described above is substantially parallel to the tonneau cover, and is essentially stretched between the tip and base of the tonneau cover. .
Since the link members constituting this telescopic support mechanism are foldably joined to each other in a plane substantially parallel to the tonneau cover, they have rigidity against vertical bending in the stretched state. Conversely, when the tip of the tonneau cover is removed from the cargo compartment wall, the tonneau cover is stored in the winding device by the winding biasing force of the winding device. and,
The distal end of the telescopic support mechanism moves backward in conjunction with the retreat of the distal end of the tonneau cover, whereby the telescopic support mechanism is also folded and stored.

As described above, in the tonneau cover device of the present invention, when the tonneau cover is pulled out and in use, the tonneau cover is substantially spanned between the tip end and the base end of the tonneau cover, and has at least left and right sides that have rigidity against vertical bending. Since a pair of telescoping support mechanisms will be arranged, by placing the cargo overlapping the telescoping support mechanisms, even if the cargo is relatively heavy, it will be stably supported on the tonneau cover. be done. Furthermore, since the telescopic support mechanism is extended and folded in conjunction with the drawer and roll-up of the tonneau cover, the advantage of conventional tonneau cover devices, which is that it can be stored without worrying about where to store it when it is not needed, is maintained. Ru. As a result of the above, the tonneau cover device of the present invention allows luggage to be placed on the top surface of the tonneau cover when the tonneau cover is in use, thereby making it possible to more effectively utilize the luggage compartment space of an automobile equipped with the tonneau cover device.

Embodiments of the present invention will be specifically described below with reference to the drawings. As shown in FIG. 1, support members 3, 3, which also serve as stoppers for holding the seat backs of the rear seats 1 in the upright position, are formed in a bulging manner on the side wall of the luggage compartment at the upper part of the wheel houses 2, 2. The left and right end portions of a winding device 5 capable of winding up and storing the tonneau cover 9 are fixed to the upper surface in a bridging manner. This winding device 5 has a tonneau cover drawer slit 8 in the lower part of the rear wall, as shown in the cross section in FIG.
A take-up roll 7, which is urged to rotate clockwise in FIG. 4 by a spring, is housed and supported in a rectangular cylindrical housing 6. On the other hand, the tonneau cover 9 is formed of a flexible sheet having a width approximately corresponding to the width of the luggage compartment and a longitudinal length corresponding to the longitudinal length of the luggage compartment defined by the back of the seat back of the rear seat 1 and the rear wall of the luggage compartment. With the tip end pulled out from the slit 8, the base end is fixed to the winding roll 7 in the winding device. the result,
When not in use, the tonneau cover is stored in the winding device 5 by the biasing force as shown in FIG.
If the tip of the tonneau cover is pulled from the stored state, it can be pulled out as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. A pair of left and right hooks 10, 10 are provided at the tip of the tonneau cover 9, and the hooks 10, 10 can be hooked to a hook member attached to the side wall of the cargo compartment, and the hooks 10, 10 are hooked to the hook members. Then, the tonneau cover 9 is held in a state where it is pulled out substantially horizontally rearward so as to cover the lower space of the luggage compartment. Further, a pair of horizontal plates 16, 16 extending rearward are fixed to predetermined left and right positions on the lower surface of the housing 6 of the winding device 5, and between the horizontal plates 16, 16 and the tip of the tonneau cover 9, Telescopic support mechanisms L, L configured as follows.
are connected and interposed. The telescoping support mechanisms L, L have two front and rear link members 11, 12 having approximately the same length, which are attached to the tonneau cover 9 at respective end portions 11b, 12a.
It is connected to the tonneau cover 9 so that it can be folded and rotated in a plane parallel to the tonneau cover 9 by a vertical pin 14 that is perpendicular to the tonneau cover 9 . And this telescopic support mechanism L,
The distal end, that is, the rear end 11a of the rear link member 11, is connected to the distal end of the tonneau cover 9, and the base end, that is, the front end 12b of the front link member 12, is connected to the horizontal plate. 16, 16. In this example, the connection portions of the support mechanisms L, L to the tonneau cover tips and the connection portions to the horizontal plates 16, 16 are the vertical connection pins 13, similar to the connection portions between the link members 11, 12, respectively. 15
By using the tonneau cover 9, it is configured to be mutually rotatable in a plane parallel to the tonneau cover 9. A bone 18 running in the width direction of the tonneau cover is inserted at the tip of the tonneau cover 9 to provide rigidity to the tip and also to define the widthwise interval between the connecting portions of the link members 11 and 11 to the tonneau cover 9. ing. In the above configuration, in the stored state shown in FIG.
is in a collapsed state. On the other hand, when the tonneau cover 9 is pulled out, the pin 13 at the tip moves rearward and away from the pin 15 at the base, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
The two link members 11 and 12 are in a state where they are mutually stretched in the front-rear direction. These two link members 11 and 12 are connected by a vertical connecting pin 14 so that they can be folded and rotated in a plane parallel to the tonneau cover 9, so that they cannot be stretched and rotated as shown in FIGS. It cannot bend vertically in the suspended state, and therefore has a certain degree of rigidity against this vertical load. In this way, the pair of left and right telescopic support mechanisms L, L function as support beams that support the cargo on the top surface of the tonneau cover 9 when it is pulled out. In this example, when the link members 11 and 12 constituting the telescoping support mechanisms L and L are stretched, the side edges of the link members 11 and 12 are aligned with the tonneau cover 9 when they are stretched.
It is set so that it protrudes outward from the side edge.
In this way, as shown in FIG. 5, the gap that occurs between the side edge of the tonneau cover 9 and the trim 17 on the side wall of the luggage compartment can be conveniently eliminated, and the appearance of the luggage compartment can be further improved when the tonneau cover is used. This is convenient because it allows you to In addition, the pin 14 connecting the front and rear link members 11 and 12 in the stretched state is connected to the pins 13 and 15 at both ends of the support mechanisms L and L.
If you position it inside the line connecting the
This is convenient because both link members 11 and 12 are always folded inward when the tonneau cover is stored. The invention is not limited to the embodiments described above. In the above-mentioned embodiment, the left and right telescopic support mechanisms L, L are arranged along both the left and right edges of the tonneau cover when stretched, but as shown in FIG. The distance between the telescopic support mechanisms L and L may be narrowed so that they are located slightly inside from both edges of the tonneau cover. In this way, the stability of the luggage placed at the center in the width direction of the tonneau cover is further improved. Furthermore, in each of the embodiments described above, the left and right telescopic support mechanisms L, L are provided on the back side of the tonneau cover 9;
As shown in FIG. 7, it may be provided so as to overlap the upper surfaces of the left and right side edges of the tonneau cover. In this way, the side edges of the tonneau cover 9 in use are hidden by the link members 11 and 12, so that end treatment of the tonneau cover is not required, and the manufacturing cost of the tonneau cover is reduced. Furthermore, in each of the above-mentioned embodiments, the connection of the base end portions of the telescopic support mechanisms L, L to the horizontal plate is
Although a vertical pin is used to allow both to pivot in a plane parallel to the tonneau cover, this connection could also be a universal connection. Further, as a support member for supporting the winding device, it is also possible to use a vehicle body component at the front-rear end of the luggage compartment, such as the back of the seat back of the rear seat or the inner wall of the tailgate. Further, the number of links of the telescopic support mechanism may be three or more, and the base end thereof may be connected to a support member on which the winding device is supported. Further, the number of telescopic support mechanisms may be two or more.
