Claims

[Claims for Utility Model Registration] In a rotating head type magnetic recording and reproducing device in which a magnetic head for recording and reproducing a magnetic tape is attached to a drum, according to the tape tension at a predetermined position on the running path of the magnetic tape, tape tension detection means for outputting a tension detection signal whose level changes; mode signal output means for outputting a mode signal that changes state depending on at least the running direction of the magnetic tape; and a control circuit that drives the reel motor so that the tension detection signal is at a different level corresponding to each state of the mode signal, and the control circuit controls the gain of the reel motor in accordance with the state of the mode signal. 1. A rotating head type magnetic recording/reproducing device characterized in that the phase characteristic is changed and/or the phase characteristic is changed.
