従来の技術 自動車ボデイ等の塗装をするために従来より手
吹塗装ガンが使用されている。この手吹塗装ガン
用の塗料供給装置は通常第2図に示されるように
塗料循環配管10内に吐出量制御用絞り弁11を
設け、絞り弁11下流の塗料循環配管10から分
岐管12を分岐してこの分岐管12を手吹塗装ガ
ン13に連結し、分岐管12の分岐部に手動式三
方切換弁14を配置している。よく知られている
ように塗料は溶剤に顔料を溶かしたものであり、
従つて塗料循環配管10内の塗料の流れを暫らく
の間停止させると塗料内の顔料が沈降してしまう
という問題を生ずる。そこで従来の塗料供給装置
では塗装をすべきときに三方切換弁14を手動に
より切換えて塗料循環配管10から分岐管12内
に塗料を送り込み、塗装作業が完了したときに再
び三方切換弁14を手動により切換えて塗料が塗
料循環配管10内を循環するようにしている。ま
た、多くの塗装ガンでは塗装ガンに塗料を供給す
るための塗装供給ホースと、塗装ガンに供給され
た塗料を返戻するための塗装返戻ホースとが塗装
ガンに接続されているが実際にはこれらホースの
重量はかなり重く、従つてこのように2本のホー
スを塗装ガンに連結しておくと塗装ガンがかなり
操作しずらいという問題がある。そこで従来の塗
料供給装置では第2図に示されるように塗装ガン
に対して塗料返戻ホースは設けず、塗料供給ホー
スのみを設けるようにしている。

により自動的に開弁しかつ塗装ガンが作動せしめ
られて塗装循環配管内に塗料圧力が予め定められ
た圧力以下になつたときに自動的に閉弁する逆止
弁を分岐管の分岐部下流の塗料循環配管内に設け
ている。

圧縮ばねにより模式的に示されるがどのような形
式の逆止弁であつてもよい。この逆止弁7は逆止
弁7の上流側と下流側の圧力差が予め定められた
一定圧以上になつたときに開弁する。

れる。このとき上述したように逆止弁7が閉弁し
ているので手吹塗装ガン4からの塗料吐出量は絞
り弁2を操作することによつて正確に調整するこ
とができる。一方、塗装作動が完了して手吹塗装
ガン4からの塗料の噴出が停止せしめられると逆
止弁7上流の塗料循環配管1内の圧力は再び上昇
し、斯くしして逆止弁7が自動的に開弁して塗料
が塗料循環配管1内を循環せしめられる。

で塗装作業が簡単化され、塗装作業に要する時間
も短縮される。更に塗装作業完了後に塗料循環配
管内の塗料の流れが停止することもないので塗料
内の顔料が沈降する危険性もない。また、塗装作
業時には逆止弁が閉弁するので絞り弁を操作する
ことによつて塗装ガンからの塗料吐出量を正確に
調整することができる。
