Abstract

PURPOSE:To charge a battery with an optimum charge current and a charging time suitable for each battery by sending a data such as a required charge current and charge time from a cordless telephone set at charging since a battery wear is discriminated through the measurement of a speech time. CONSTITUTION:When a telephone set side charging terminal 3 of a cordless telephone set 1 and a charger side charge terminal 4 of a charger 2 are connected, a means 7 measures the speech time to calculate the battery wear thereby calculating data such as required charge current and charging time. The data is sent from the telephone set side charging terminal 3 or a telephone set side exclusive terminal 5 with a transmission section 8, received by a reception section 10, a means 11 sets a charging current to a current supply section 12 based on the reception to command the charging start. When the charging time elapses, the means 11 commands the charge stop to the current supply section 12, which interrupts the charging current supplied to a battery 9 and then the charging of the battery 9 is terminated. Thus, the possibility of overcharge is precluded and the battery is charged in the shortest time without excess and deficiency.

In places such as offices where many cordless telephones are used, it is conceivable that the cordless telephone charger is shared by an unspecified number of cordless telephones. In this case, since the charging current, charging time, etc. of each cordless phone battery are different, charging must be performed in accordance with the charging current, charging time, etc. However, since there was no configuration for charging in this way, it was necessary to charge the battery optimally for each battery. Not only will it not be possible to charge the battery and there is a risk of overcharging, but it will also cause damage to the batteries, especially those of cordless phones.
When an i-Cd battery is used, the battery voltage fluctuates depending on the ambient temperature, making it impossible to accurately determine the remaining capacity of the battery. This makes it difficult to charge the battery in the shortest possible time, and there is a risk of overcharging.

Therefore, the present invention provides a battery charging device for cordless telephones that, when a single charger is shared by a large number of cordless telephones, can charge the batteries of each cordless telephone with the optimal charging current and charging time suitable for each battery. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a charging device that eliminates the risk of overcharging, does not cause problems even when using Ni-Cd batteries, charges in the shortest possible time without overcharging, and has no risk of overcharging. It is something to do.
