Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent rise in temperature of a deflection yoke for obtaining highly precise images by attaching black heat radiating substance on the surface of at least a part of the deflection yoke. CONSTITUTION:In a deflection yoke 1A, black heat radiating substance 3 wherein coloring heat radiant such as carbon black and adhesive are mixed is applied by spraying or the like and dried to be attached on an entire face of a cylindrical yoke core 1a made of ferrite. A horizontal and vertical deflection coil 1b is wound along the side of this yoke core 1a while an approximately ring-like separator 1c comprising a synthetic resin mold is attached from the both end faces of the yoke core 1a, Further, the deflection yoke 1A is installed at a neck of an image receiving tube 2 and is used with sawtooth current flowed to the deflection coil 1b while electron beam is deflected laterally and vertically. Thus heat radiating effect can be improved by the black heat radiating substance 3 thereby preventing temperature rise of the deflection yoke 1A as well as increasing electron beam scan frequency to obtain highly precise images.

In conventional deflection yokes, when the scanning frequency of the electron beam is increased to improve image accuracy, the amount of heat generated in the yoke core and deflection coil increases, the temperature of the yoke core increases, the deflection efficiency decreases, and the image quality increases. The disadvantage of this method is that the images are distorted, which has been an obstacle to improving the precision of images.

Next, FIG. 3 shows a black heat dissipating material 3 on at least a portion of the surface of the yoke core 1a that facilitates the heat dissipation effect of the yoke core 1a in another embodiment.
An example with attached is shown below. That is, in this embodiment, the yoke core 1 is attached to the yoke core 1a along the exposed partial portions that are not covered by the pair of deflection coils 1b attached to the yoke core 1a.
A black heat dissipating substance 3 is attached in a band shape which is approximately parallel to the cylindrical axis direction of a and is symmetrical from front to back. Even if the heat dissipating substance 3 is attached only to a portion in this way, a considerable heat dissipation effect can be obtained.
