Conventionally, small plain bearing units with oil-impregnated bearing metal have been considered self-aligning, so even if self-aligning is not required, self-aligning plain bearing units must be used. In general and conventional plain bearing units, the lubricating oil used for lubrication during use is limited to the oil impregnated in the spherical oil-impregnated bearing metal.
There were disadvantages such as the low amount of oil, short bearing life, and the hassle of re-lubricating.

However, although the above sliding bearing unit has a simple structure including an outer cylinder and an oil-impregnated bearing metal,
The outer cylinder is constructed by bending both ends of a cylindrical part made of thin steel plate inward to provide a brim-like part, so if the wall thickness is thin, the strength will be insufficient, while if the wall thickness is thick, it will be difficult to press, etc. The problem was that it was difficult to process.

The present invention was developed against the background of these circumstances, and the purpose of the present invention is to extend the life of the bearing without requiring replenishment of lubricating oil, and to achieve a non-self-aligning type. Another object of the present invention is to provide a sliding bearing unit with an oil-impregnated bearing metal that can be easily machined while improving strength.

The sliding bearing of the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 is small in size, having the same dimensions as a small-diameter rolling bearing, but is shown enlarged. In FIG. 1, 16 is an outer cylinder, and one end of a cylindrical part 18 formed of a thin steel plate is bent inward to form an annular collar part 20, and the other end is bent inward to form an annular side wall. Part 2
2, and an annular metal receiving part 2 formed by bending inward over the entire periphery at the open end.
4 is provided in a protruding manner so that it can be fitted into a stepped portion 28 of an oil-impregnated bearing metal 26, which will be described later. The oil-impregnated bearing metal 26 has a cylindrical outer peripheral surface on the outside, and annularly recessed stepped portions 2 on the outer peripheral sides of both ends.
It is a member made of a sintered alloy in which numbers 8 and 30 are formed,
It is arranged inside the outer cylinder 16.

A metal presser foot 36 having a metal receiving portion 34 is disposed on the opposite side of the side wall portion 22 within the outer cylinder 16.
In cooperation with the outer cylinder 16, an oil-impregnated bearing metal 26 is supported concentrically with the outer circumference of the outer cylinder 16.
The metal presser foot 36 has a cylindrical portion 38 on the outside that can fit into the inner peripheral portion of the outer cylinder 16, and an annular metal receiving portion 34 on the inside, and both are connected to a stepped side wall. The metal receiving portion 3
4 cooperates with the metal receiving portion 24 of the outer cylinder 16 to restrict lateral movement of the oil-impregnated bearing metal 26 and to support the oil-impregnated bearing metal 26 concentrically with the outer cylinder 16.

The sliding bearing unit 46 is constructed as described above, but the assembly is performed using the unfinished state of the outer cylinder 16, that is, the portion that will become the collar portion 20 is not yet bent and is the same as the cylindrical portion 18. After combining the cylindrical diameter and the oil-impregnated bearing metal 26 and filling the inside with the oil-impregnated material 42, the metal presser 36 is inserted, and then the portion that will become the brim portion 20 is bent. . As a result, the metal presser foot 36 becomes unable to fall off, that is, cannot be separated, and constitutes an independent unit. Note that the portion forming the brim portion 20 is made slightly thinner than the cylindrical portion 18, so that it can be easily bent.

In this way, the rigidity is increased by providing the metal receiving portion 24 protruding from the outer cylinder 16, so that the wall thickness of the outer cylinder can be reduced and machining can be facilitated. 20 Since one end side is held through the metal presser 36 rather than directly, it is assembled,
Processing is easier, and since there is no need to provide a spherical surface, the cost is lower than that of a self-aligning plain bearing unit. Furthermore, since the sliding bearing unit of this embodiment has the same dimensions as a normal rolling bearing, it can be used directly in place of a rolling bearing. Furthermore, this sliding bearing unit is structurally easy to manufacture with the same inner diameter, outer diameter, and width as rolling bearings of various sizes.
Therefore, it is possible to directly replace locations where rolling bearings were used. That is, they are compatible. Furthermore, it is easy to manufacture a sliding bearing unit that is even smaller than this embodiment. Furthermore, since it is made into a unit, it can be easily replaced in the event of a failure.

Slide bearing unit 4 configured as above
In step 6, the lubricating oil impregnated in the oil-impregnated material 42 passes through the gap between the sintered structures in the oil-impregnated bearing metal 26 as the shaft to be supported by the plain bearing unit 46 rotates, and is applied to the shaft. The surface is lubricated, and then by rotation of the shaft, the oil-impregnated bearing metal 2
The lubricating oil leaks to both the left and right ends of the metal receiving part 2, and this leaked lubricating oil moves outward due to surface tension, etc.
The oil enters the oil-impregnated material 42 through the gaps between the stepped portions 28 and 30 and the oil grooves 32 provided at both ends of the oil-impregnated bearing metal 26, and thereafter repeats such circulation.

In this way, lubrication within the plain bearing unit 46 is achieved. Therefore, since the lubricating oil in the sliding bearing unit 46 has a large content and is used in circulation, there is less loss to the outside, and the bearing life can be extended.

In the embodiment described above, the number of oil grooves 32 provided in the oil-impregnated bearing metal 26 can be further increased or decreased, and the length can also be changed. Furthermore, other known oil-impregnating materials may be used. Furthermore, the dimensions of the plain bearing unit of the embodiment described above can be made even larger or smaller.
