There are some devices that are configured to be able to respond to calls. At that time, the central office line that is in use continues to be captured, and unnecessary sounds from the extension side do not leak into the central office line.Hereafter, we will introduce such a function. I'll call it the hold function.

If, during that time, the person on hold has something urgent to do or there is an unavoidable need to call the person who set the hold, only the person who set the hold can release the hold.

に大きなものとなってしまっていた。If it is unavoidable, the person on hold will have to unilaterally terminate the contract, but there are many cases where the person in question cannot do so unilaterally due to their position. In such a case, the person on hold must wait, even for a long time, until the person who set the hold performs an operation to release the hold. In particular, if the call is a long-distance call originating from the person on hold, the burden of call charges on the person on hold becomes extremely large.

In FIG. 1, reference numeral 101 is a central office line interface that enables connection to the central office line by capturing the central office line and sending a dial signal to the central office line, and 103 is equipped with a large number of switches to connect the central office line and each extension. A communication path unit 102 that connects to form a communication path is an extension interface that connects with an extension terminal. Reference numeral 104 denotes a DTMF signal receiving section, which detects various signals sent in DTMF format from the central office line. and DTMF signal receiving section 1

When the hold button is operated, a hold request signal is sent from the extension telephone 110 to the exchange. When the exchange receives this hold request signal (step 202), it performs hold processing according to the hold request signal sent from the extension telephone 110. First, while capturing the moored station line B, switch the communication path switch section 10.
3 to release the communication path connection state between the extension set on hold and the moored station line B, and the DTMF signal receiving section 104 is connected to the moored station line B (step 203).

By installing a holding call signal processing means, when the phone is on hold, the telephone that was set to hold on the central office line will make a ring tone to indicate the intention to release the hold. It becomes possible to do
Therefore, even if it becomes necessary for the person on hold to call the person who set the hold, the person on hold can request the person who set the hold to release the hold, and the person on hold can be released from the hold. It becomes possible to have it done. In particular, if the call is a long-distance call made by the person on hold, the person who set the hold can request that the call be released from hold, so the person on hold does not have to unilaterally end the call, and the other party It is possible to end a call without being rude, and the burden of call charges on the person on hold can be kept low.
