(Prior Art) Conventionally, as disclosed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 50-19577, a coating device for automobiles of this type has been equipped with one top spray gun ( A side spray gun (paint gun) is mounted facing downward, and a side spray gun (paint gun) is mounted on the upright supports provided on both sides of the conveyance path so as to face almost perpendicular to the side of the vehicle. It is known that the gun is controlled to be movable up and down and left and right, and the side spray gun is controlled to be movable up and down, so that a coating film is uniformly formed on the top and side surfaces of a car. .

(Problems to be solved by the invention) However, the above conventional method had the following problems. In other words, in the former case, the top and side surfaces of a car are painted using one top spray gun and a pair of left and right side spray guns, so the stroke required for each spray gun to reciprocate is long, and therefore the amount of time required for one spray gun is long. Since the reciprocating movement takes time, the conveyance speed is naturally limited in order to uniformly paint the top and side surfaces of automobiles, which poses problems in terms of work efficiency.

On the other hand, in the latter type of painting equipment, the top of the car is painted with two bells, and the sides are painted with multiple bells over the entire top and bottom width at once.
Although the conveyance speed of automobiles has been significantly shortened and the problem of work efficiency due to the former conveyance speed restriction has been solved, the horizontal support frame and vertical support frame that support each bell are installed inside the paint booth. In particular, since the upright support frames are erected on both sides of the conveyance path, the upright support frames obstruct the movement of the plural side surface painting bells that are arranged in parallel at a predetermined interval in the conveyance direction. The installation space is limited accordingly, especially for the bell that paints the upper side of the car.
Does not correspond to the lower part of the bell that paints the top of the car,
Therefore, the sprayed paints do not blend together in the polymerization area of each paint sprayed from both bells (the painting interval of both bells is long, and after the first sprayed paint dries, the next paint is applied on top of it). As a result, there was a problem in that streaks and other unevenness occurred in this polymerized region.

The present invention has been devised in view of these points, and its purpose is to further improve the latter conventional coating device as described above, by replacing the upright column of the support frame on which the upper coating bell is supported with the coating booth. By placing it on the outside, the space in the painting booth that was previously occupied by the standing pillar can be used as the installation space for at least the side painting bell that paints the upper side of the car. The objective is to shorten the painting interval of the bell as much as possible to improve the conformability of the paint in the polymerization region.

First, each of the painting guns 15, 26 to 28 is not in operation when the transported automobile M has not reached the painting work area (painting booth 4) on the transport path 1. Then, the car M is transported to the vicinity of the painting work area (painting booth 4), and its tip is connected to the photocell 3.
When the automobile M reaches a predetermined position in the painting work area (painting booth 4) by blocking the radiation light of When activated, it descends to a predetermined height position and starts painting the front bonnet m1 on the upper surface of the automobile M while performing reciprocating motion. Then, the pair of upper coating guns 15,1
5 gradually rises when it approaches the front pillar m2, and then stops the rising operation at a predetermined height position above the roof m3 to paint the roof. Thereafter, when the painting of the roof m3 is completed and it approaches the rear pillar m4, the roof m3 is gradually lowered, and the lowering operation is stopped at a predetermined height position above the trunk lid m5, and the roof m3 is painted. While repeating the lifting and lowering movements in this way,
By performing the reciprocating motion, the entire upper surface of the automobile M is spray-painted. During this time, when the automobile M is transported to the position corresponding to each of the side surface painting guns 26 to 28, the side surface painting guns 26 to 28 on both sides operate one after another, covering the entire vertical width of the side surface of the vehicle. Then spray painting is started and the painting is done.

In this way, each of the above painting guns 15, 26 to 2
8, each painting area is painted in the third stage.
It is done as shown in the figure. FIG. 3 shows the spray conditions (spray patterns) of the upper coating gun 15 which is painting the roof 31 or the upper side of the automobile M, and the side coating gun 26 which is painting the upper side of the automobile M. In the figure, L1 indicates the area where the spray paint from the side coating gun 26 overlaps when the upper coating gun 15 sprays while moving as shown in the imaginary line, and L2 indicates the upper and middle portions of the side of the automobile M. This is the polymerization area of the spray paint of each side surface painting gun 26, 27. That is, since volatile organic solvents are used in the paint, if the painting interval is long, the paint sprayed from the upper paint gun 15 will dry immediately, and the paint will be sprayed next by the side paint gun 26. The paint is sprayed onto the dried paint (paint film) in the polymerization region L1 . In such a case, the conformability of each sprayed paint will be reduced, and streaks and the like will occur on the painted surface, resulting in a poor finished appearance. In the present invention, as shown in FIG.
It is located below and close to the upper coating gun 15 to shorten the distance between it and the upper coating gun 15 in the transport direction as much as possible. Therefore, since the painting interval between the top surface and the upper side surfaces of the automobile M is shortened, the next paint is immediately sprayed while the previously sprayed paint is not dry, and the above-mentioned polymerization area L1 is sprayed.
This will improve the compatibility of the paint. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a coating with an excellent external finish without streaks and the like, and to improve its quality.

Further, in the embodiment described above, since each of the vertical columns 6 is located outside the painting booth 4, maintenance such as repair can be easily and quickly performed when the lifting device 8 installed in each vertical column 6 breaks down. In addition,
There is no risk of spray paint from each painting gun 15, 26 adhering to each standing pillar 6, and therefore each standing pillar 6
In the conventional apparatus in which the paint was placed inside the painting booth 4, a film or sheet was wrapped around each vertical pillar 6 to prevent the spray paint from adhering to it, but there is no need to replace the film or the like. Furthermore, there is no risk of dust or the like being generated during this replacement work, and the coating environment within the coating booth 4 is improved.

Furthermore, in the above embodiment, since the space in the painting booth 4 corresponding to each vertical pillar 6 is utilized, the length of the plurality of side surface painting guns 26 to 28 in the conveying direction is equal to the width dimension of each vertical pillar 6. This makes it possible to shorten the length of the coating booth 4 in the conveying direction, thereby reducing equipment costs.

Further, in the above embodiment, the stroke of each upper coating gun 15 can be changed in response to a change in the width dimension of the upper surface of the automobile M (for example, the width dimension is different between the front bonnet m1 and the roof m1). Therefore, the sprayed paint can be sufficiently supplied to the side edges of the front bonnet m1 , which has a large width dimension, and the upper surface of the automobile M can be coated uniformly without uneven coating thickness.

Note that the present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned embodiments, but includes various other modifications.
For example, in the above embodiment, the support frame 5 is installed on the upstream side of the coating booth 4, and the plurality of side coating guns 26 to 28 are disposed downstream from the support frame 5. It is also possible to arrange a plurality of side painting guns 26 to 28 on the upstream side of the booth 4 and install the support frame 5 on the downstream side.
Various other changes are possible.

(Effects of the Invention) As explained above, according to the automobile painting apparatus of the present invention, the pillars of the support frame supporting the upper coating gun are provided adjacent to the outside of the painting booth,
Since the space in the painting booth corresponding to the above-mentioned pillar is used for installing at least the side painting gun that paints the upper side of the car, the painting interval between the side painting gun and the upper painting gun is reduced. This shortens the time and allows the next paint to be sprayed immediately before the previously sprayed paint dries, improving the compatibility of each paint in the polymerization area of the paint sprayed from both paint guns. , it is possible to achieve both improvement in painting work efficiency and high quality external finish. Further, it has the advantage of improving maintenance such as repair and maintenance of the lifting device, improving the painting environment, and further reducing equipment costs.
