る。つまり第4図aに示すように印字時刻tnに記
録紙12の位置xoにおいて記録したとすると、同
図bに示すように次の印字時刻to+1には感熱ヘツ
ド8はdだけ移動して、位置xo+1において記録す
るわけであるが、この記録時にインクリボン11
の未使用の部分がヘツド8の下に来るようにする
ためには、インクリボンは2dだけ移動するよう
にする。またこの時、記録紙12、インクリボン
11および感熱ヘツド8はそれぞれ相対的に移動
するため記録紙12にこすれによる汚れがつくの
で、感熱ヘツド8がxoからxo+1へ動く間だけこす
れが生じない程度にヘツド8を記録面から第4図
上方に離してやる。このようにしてヘツド8がb
点からa点へ戻る時にもインクリボン11を巻き
ながらシアンを記録する。そしてヘツド8がa点
に来た時にインクリボン11はa点−b点間には
次のマゼンタの単色部11Mが来るので、黒を記
録した時と同様にマゼンタを、シアンを記録した
時と同様にイエローを記録する。このようにし
て、感熱ヘツド8の走査2往復で4色(黒、シア
ン、マゼンタ、イエロー)を重ね打ちして記録
し、7色(黒、シアン、マゼンタ、イエロー、
赤、青、緑)のカラー記録を行なう。
