The front cover 1 has an integral fixed gear 4 on the inner surface of the center, and has an annular engagement protrusion 5 on the outer surface. Clock body 6 consisting of a clock movement
is fixed in a cap-shaped movement case 7 made of plastic, and the movement case 7 is rotatably fitted into the annular engagement protrusion 5 of the front cover 1 with a suitable force or more. The movement case 7 has a knurled groove 7a on its outer periphery to prevent it from slipping when rotated by hand, and also serves as a battery holder, with a battery storage recess 7b in the center. The battery cover 8 is made of plastic, is fitted onto the movement case 7, and is opened and closed when the secondary battery 9 is replaced. The minute hand shaft 10 of the watch body 6 is aligned with the center of the movement case 7 and the fixed gear 4, and passes through the fixed gear 4. Minute hand axis 1
A minute hand bushing 11 is press-fitted and fixed to the tip of the 0. The hour hand 13 is an eccentric cam 1 of the minute hand bushing 11.

Electrically, as shown in FIG. 4, this solar cell type wall clock has a solar cell 14 connected to a secondary battery 9 in parallel, and a parallel circuit of the solar cell 14 and the secondary battery 9 connected between both power supply terminals. It has a configuration in which the watch body 6 is connected, and when it is bright such as during the daytime, a solar cell 14 supplies current to the watch body 6 to operate the watch body 6, and at the same time supplies charging current to a button-shaped secondary battery 9 such as a silver oxide battery. When it is dark, such as at night, current is supplied from the secondary battery 9 to the watch body 6 to operate the watch body 6. Note that R is a resistance that limits the output current of the solar cell 14. Reference numeral 15 denotes an overcharge prevention circuit that bypasses the output current of the solar cell 14 to prevent it from flowing into the secondary battery 9 when the voltage of the secondary battery 9 exceeds a predetermined value.

When such a solar battery-powered wall clock is packed, the secondary battery 9 is removed, but when taken out of the packaging case during the day, current is immediately supplied from the solar cell 14 to the clock body 6, and the clock body 6 starts operating. Therefore, the user often forgets to insert the secondary battery 9. As a result, when the solar cell 9 no longer produces sufficient output at night, the clock body 6 stops operating, which is extremely inconvenient.

An embodiment of this invention is shown in FIGS. 5 to 7. That is, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, in this solar cell wall clock, the distal end of the elastic contact member 16 whose base end is fixed to the movement case 7 is located at the bottom of the battery storage recess 7b, and the distal end of the elastic contact member 16 is positioned opposite The tips of the elastic contact members 17 and 18, which have been arranged and whose base ends are fixed to the movement case 7, are inserted into the battery storage recess 7b through the through hole 7c of the movement case 7.
Connect the base end of the elastic contact member 16 to both the overcharge prevention circuit 15 and the watch body 6 by soldering or the like, and connect the base end of the elastic contact member 17 to the overcharge prevention circuit 15 by soldering or the like. Connect the base end of the elastic contact member 18 to the watch body 6 by soldering or the like, and insert the button-shaped secondary battery 9, such as a silver oxide battery, into the battery storage recess 7b with the negative pole side inside. When the battery cover 8 is fitted into the opening of the battery storage recess 7b by pressing, rotating, etc., the elastic contact member 1
The tips of the elastic contact members 17 and 18 elastically contact the negative pole surface of the secondary battery 9, and the tips of the elastic contact members 17 and 18 elastically contact the positive pole peripheral body surface of the secondary battery 9.
It is possible to supply power from the solar cell 1 to the watch body 6.
4 to the secondary battery 9 and the watch body 6.

As a result of this configuration, when the secondary battery 9 is not inserted into the battery storage recess 7b, the solar cell 1
4 to the watch body 6 will be blocked, and if the secondary battery 9 is not inserted, the power supply from the watch body 6 to the watch body 6 will be blocked.
Therefore, there is no need to forget to insert the secondary battery 9, and the clock does not stop at night.

Note that the same effect can be obtained by dividing the elastic contact member 16 that comes into elastic contact with the negative pole surface of the secondary battery 9 into two parts, and connecting one part to the overcharge prevention circuit and the other part to the watch body 6. Also, instead of providing the elastic contact member 18 (FIG. 7), a limit switch 21 or the like is inserted and connected between the overcharge prevention circuit 15 and the watch body 6, as shown in FIG. If the battery is not inserted, turn off the limit switch 21 and disconnect the secondary battery 9.
It may be configured such that when the watch body 6 is inserted, the limit switch 21 is turned on so that power can be supplied from the solar cell 14 to the watch body 6 via the overcharge prevention circuit 15.

As described above, the solar cell watch of the present invention connects a secondary battery to a solar cell in parallel, and connects the watch body between both power terminals of the parallel connection of the solar cell and the secondary battery. In a solar battery watch, the solar battery supplies current from the solar cell to the secondary battery and the watch body during time, and when it is dark such as at night, a limited current is supplied from the secondary battery to the watch body, the battery of the secondary battery. A switch that is turned on in conjunction with insertion into the holder is inserted and connected between the solar cell and the watch body,
When the secondary battery is not inserted, the watch body can be prohibited from being driven by the solar battery alone using a switch that turns on and off in response to whether or not the battery is inserted. By preventing the main body from moving, it is possible to notify that the user has forgotten to insert the secondary battery, and furthermore, it is possible to prevent the clock from stopping at night or the like due to forgetting to insert the secondary battery.
