(従来技術) 一般にV型2気筒エンジンを自動2輪車に搭載

している。ところがこの構造によると、エンジン
幅が狭くなるという利点があるが、その反面、シ
リンダ全体の前後方向長さLが大きくなり、フレ
ーム2への搭載が困難である。又シート(図示せ
ず)はエンジン1の後上方に配置されるが、シー
ト高さを低くするには、ホイールベースを長くし
なければならない。更に冷却方式が空冷の場合に
は、後側のシリンダ5を冷却しにくい。

ンダ12,13が燃料タンク14の両側に出つ張
り、運転者の足の邪魔になる。又トルクロール軸
が車体前後方向に延び、車体を捩る方向のトルク
リアクシヨンが生じるので、運転者がエンジン振
動を敏感に感じ、不快感をおぼえる。

のシリンダを、クランク軸に対して車体前方にず
れた位置、かつ、車体の中心を車体前後方向に延
びる中心面に対して車体の左右方向の両側位置に
位置させたことを特徴としている。

側のシリンダ22,23の間を上下に延びてい
