Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain the disk device in a low moisture state for a long time by using a partition plate having throttled holes so as to divide the inside of a moisture absorbing agent seal case being a sealed package surrounding a magnetic disk into plural parts. CONSTITUTION:A sealed package 1 surrounding a magnetic disk 1 is provided with a moisture absorbing agent seal case provided with a breathing hole 9 in which a moisture absorbing agent 4 is contained. The inside of the case 2 is divided into plural parts by a partition plate having throttled holes 7, 8. The deterioration in the moisture absorbing agent is retarded by the constitution of plural chambers and the inside of the magnetic disk seal package is kept to a low moisture state for a long time.

The above conventional technology is only devised for the flow path structure between the inside of the sealed container and the inside of the case containing the moisture absorbent. There was a problem in that it was not kept in low humidity for a long time.

When the outside air passes through the moisture absorbent and the flow path in the case and is guided into the sealed container, a partition plate with a throttle inside the case serves as a passage resistance against the diffusion and intrusion of moisture. In general, moisture absorbers absorb water faster as the humidity difference increases.
This tends to shorten the lifespan. Therefore, by partitioning the room with a plurality of plates having aperture holes, a humidity difference occurs between each partitioned room. Therefore, when the moisture absorbent in the room close to the outside air approaches saturation, the moisture absorbent in the next inner room comes into play, so even if the same amount of moisture absorbent is used, by partitioning the room in this way, There is a significant delaying effect when considering the environmental lifespan of that final room humidity limit.

A connecting hole 6 is provided at the corner of the front sealed container 1 to allow air to enter and exit depending on changes in environmental conditions, and a filter 5 is attached to the inside of the sealed container to prevent dust from outside air from entering. . Further, a moisture absorbent enclosing case 2 is arranged on the outer surface of the corner portion of the sealed container 1. The case 2 is provided with a breathing hole 9 and a connecting hole 6, and the inside thereof has a restricting hole 7.

Next, the operation of this embodiment will be explained. Inside a magnetic disk drive, air flows in and out of the device due to heat generated by the motor, etc., but to keep the inside of the device clean, a dust filter is attached to the breathing hole. This breathing air may contain a large amount of moisture.

Highly humid outside air enters the first chamber 13 through the breathing hole 9 of the case 2 and is dehumidified by the moisture absorbent 4. When the moisture absorbent in the first chamber 13 sufficiently absorbs moisture and reaches its water absorption limit, the moisture in the outside air passes through the breathing hole 9 and the throttle hole 8 and enters the second chamber 15.
The moisture is dehumidified by the moisture absorbent 4 in the chamber. When the moisture absorbent 4 in the second chamber 14 reaches its water absorption limit like that in the first chamber 13,
Moisture in the outside air passes through the breathing hole 9 and the throttle holes 8 and 7 and enters the third chamber 1.
5, and at the same time enters the sealed container 1 which houses the disc. The humidity inside the sealed container is approximately equal to the humidity in the third chamber, as shown in FIG. 3. The vertical axis is relative humidity;
The horizontal axis is the environmental lifespan. If the same amount of moisture absorbent is used to divide Case 2 into three rooms, the environmental lifespan will be 5 years when the critical humidity is 70%, which is 2 years longer than the conventional one-room case shown in Figure 4. Furthermore, if the structure is sealed except for the breathing hole, such as in a magnetic disk drive, when low-humidity internal air is exhausted through the desiccant case, the moisture in the desiccant will be expelled to the outside and reactivated. Therefore, there is an effect that is actually expected to be longer than the effect shown in FIG. 3.

According to the present invention, even if the same amount of moisture absorbent is used in the magnetic disk drive, it is effective to maintain a lower humidity state for a longer period of time than in the past.
