Abstract

PURPOSE:To make copying of a key impossible and to reduce the size of the key by a method wherein an electronic key is added to an IC card, and data is freely variable. CONSTITUTION:An IC card having a data input output terminal 1, a key board 2, a display device 3, and a solar battery 4 is provided. A key 5 is provided, and an I/O port for exchanging data with an electronic lock is formed in the side of the key. The card 5 and the key 5 are interconnected by means of a hinge 6, a power source is feedable, and a signal is transmittable. In a state that the key 5 is folded, data is exchanged through a terminal like an ordinary IC card, and data is inputted, displayed, and computed by using the key board 2. Further, by using the key 5, data is exchanged with the electronic lock to perform locking and unlocking. This constitution freely varies data of a key, makes copying of a key impossible, and enables the key to be suited for mass production and used for a door knob since its size is reduced.
