Abstract

PURPOSE:To automatically perform a step of impressing a character, a symbol, etc., on a printed wiring board by optically reading the position of the board on a belt conveyor, and impressing a predetermined character, symbol or the like by an ink jet printer. CONSTITUTION:A printed wiring board A is held fixedly between a positioning stationary bar 6 and a positioning movable bar 7 until it reaches under an ink jet printer 3. When the board A is conveyed under the printer 3, a marker, etc., formed previously on part of the board A is detected by a phototube, etc., information, etc., stored in advance is transmitted from a position data managing mechanism in an operation unit 7 to the printer 3 based on it, thereby performing impression at a predetermined position of the board A. The board A subjected to the impression is passed through an ultraviolet ray exposure unit 4, and the impressed part is cured by irradiation with ultraviolet rays.

[Prior Art] Conventionally, in the manufacturing process of printed wiring boards, there have been processes such as forming a predetermined wiring pattern, forming a solder mask to cover a part of the wiring (SR printing), and also forming component markings to determine the placement of circuit components. After going through processes such as formation (CM printing), arbitrary symbols, characters, etc. are stamped on the printed wiring board for purposes such as identification. However, conventionally, such stamping has been performed using the above-mentioned SR printing, 0
Since the top surface of the printed wiring board is uneven due to M printing, etc., this has been done manually using octopus printing or the like using an elastic material such as rubber.
