Abstract

PURPOSE:To drive a carriage even under a low temperature and to prevent mechanical vibration when acceleration is increased at the time of starting by providing a timer for intermittently driving a CPU which controls a motor driver, a sensor for detecting the temperature, a ROM storing speed profile data, and an I/O unit. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 11 controls the system entirely and a timer 12 actuates the control operation of the CPU 11 intermittently with a time interval. A ROM 13 stores a speed profile and a temperature sensor 15 detects the temperature in the system. A motor driver 16 drives a motor. The temperature sensor 15 detects the temperature in the system and the CPU 11 selects a speed profile stored in the ROM 13 appropriately based on the detected temperature thus controlling the motor.

Conventional technology When a step motor is used as a motor, as shown in Fig. 3(b), in order to suppress vibrations in the mechanical system due to sudden acceleration and deceleration, a step motor is used when transitioning from startup and acceleration to constant speed operation. The speed was controlled so that changes in the drive frequency (step pulse) were smooth.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, at low temperatures, the belt hardens, the shaft lubricating oil solidifies, etc., which increases the sliding resistance between the carriage and the shaft, and the conventional drive method described above has a low acceleration at startup. If it is too large, there is a possibility that the carriage will not be able to drive.

On the other hand, when the acceleration at startup is increased, the sliding resistance is small at room temperature, which causes undesirable mechanical vibrations such as overshoot.
