In many cases, such as when drawing blood, it is necessary to remove needles or other instruments from medical instruments, and there are many opportunities for injury while performing such tasks.

Still another problem is that the method of disposing of syringe sharp objects or needles, whether or not they are removed from the syringe at the time, is such that they are first dropped into a collection container and then discarded. The entire container is disposed of by incineration or other method. However, the needle tends to penetrate the side of the container in which it is collected and protrude to the surface. In this case, it will cause harm to the person handling the destruction process. The present invention is therefore directed to preventing injury to the human body once the needle has been placed in a disposal container.

No. 4,576,281 discloses a needle disposal system in which the needle is safely removed and dropped into a container, but the tip of the needle remains exposed in the container. , as pointed out, often penetrate through the walls of the container and cause harm to the person handling it. The present invention aims to solve the various problems mentioned above. Accordingly, one aspect of the present invention is a container for processing medical needles, the container having a cylindrical portion with one end closed and the other end open. The open end of the housing has a radially outwardly extending flange. The flange has a means for guiding the medical needle into the cylindrical part, and the inner wall surface of the cylindrical part where the flange is attached has a means for guiding the medical needle into the cylindrical part.
Means are provided for securely holding the base of the medical needle.

Hold that needle firmly. As a result, needles or sharp objects do not protrude through the sides or bottom of the container. The flange is large enough so that when the container is held in the hand and the tip of the medical needle is inserted into the cylindrical part, the fingers are protected by the flange. Once the base of the medical needle is received and retained in the retainer of the barrel, the syringe or other instrument can be rotated to remove the needle from the medical instrument. One or both parts can then be processed. Alternatively, the medical device and the attached needle may be treated as one unit in complete safety.

You can prepare. Alternatively, the means for firmly gripping the base of the medical needle includes a cylindrical inner portion that is substantially cylindrical and has a diameter that fits abutting the base of the medical needle. It doesn't matter if you stay there. The means for guiding the tip of the medical needle into the tubular body may be an inclined surface provided between the flange and the inner surface of the tubular body.

It can be disposed of as a single unit. It is also possible to remove the container with the needle attached from the medical device and dispose of it separately. In another aspect, the present invention resides in a medical needle handling tray having a substantially flat and horizontal top surface with a plurality of tubular bodies extending downwardly from the hole and having a closed bottom end. You can also use it as Each of the plurality of cylindrical bodies includes an inclined surface portion between the flat surface and the inner wall surface of the cylindrical body, which serves to guide the tip of the medical needle into the cylindrical body, and the medical needle The medical needle has means for reliably holding the needle hub of the base portion of the medical needle when the medical needle is inserted into the cylindrical body.

する。If the medical needle has a different structure of the support means at the base of the needle hub or its pointed part, the above-mentioned support means may be provided within the scope of the claims of the present invention. As shown above, it is clearly possible to protect the sharp tip. As mentioned above, by using various forms according to the present invention, the user does not have to remove the needle portion of the medical device from the device before it is inserted into the housing, thereby It is understood that the chances of being injured by medical needles have decreased significantly. The user may also avoid having to remove the needle portion from the medical device prior to disposal. In this case, once the receptacle has been attached to the medical device, the respective connections of the receptacle to the needle portion of the medical device and of the needle portion to the medical device itself can be made by abutting the receptacle against a hard surface. This makes the situation more secure, so that the medical device, needle and container can be disposed of as one unit. This results in
The needle does not injure the user, greatly improving safety.

The method according to the invention requires only one-handed operation; one hand holds and manipulates the medical device while the other hand remains sufficiently far away from the device so that the needle does not touch the user's skin. The risk of being stabbed and the risk of infection, such as AIDS (AIDs).
Please note that there is no risk of infection with bacteria such as S). Hereinafter, the structure of the container according to the present invention and how it is actually used will be explained in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

The open end 4 has an inclined inner surface 5 which serves to guide the tip of the medical needle into the hollow part 6 of the tubular body 2.
A flange 7 extends radially outward from the open end 4 of the container 1. The size of the flange 7 is such that when the container 2 is gripped by fingers, the fingers are sufficiently protected by the flange 7. A large number of linear protrusions are provided below the flange 7 on the outer surface of the container 1,
When the needle base of the medical needle is fitted into the cylindrical body 2 and the needle is removed, the outside of the container can be grasped. In order to assist the insertion of the needle base of the medical needle into the cylindrical body,
A vertically extending linear protrusion 9 is provided on the inner surface of the cylindrical body 2 at a portion adjacent to the open end 4, and the protrusion engages with the base of a medical needle to prevent the needle from being removed. useful for.

The cylindrical portion 42 is provided with an insertion rib 44 into which a needle base 45 of a syringe 46 is inserted. Between the flat top surface of the tray 40 and the tubular section 42 there is a ramp 4 which serves to guide the needle tips 48 into the tubular section.
7 is provided. After the needle base 45 of the needle is securely fitted into the tubular portion 42, the syringe 46 is removed so that the needle is removed from the syringe and the needle remains fitted in the tray.
Just twist it left and right. When all the holes 4L on the tray are full, the entire tray can be discarded. The material constituting the container and the tray or the container and the tray may be any plastic material such as polyethylene, polypropylene, etc. Alternatively, the tray may be made of cardboard or other suitable material. Good too.
When producing the product of the present invention, the injection molding method is preferred, but other methods may of course be used.
