Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily judge the quality of an ORP electrode by reading the change characteristic data table of oxidation-reduction potential to the temp. change of a check solution used at the beginning and calculating the tolerance range of the potential corresponding to the measured temp. of the solution to judge whether the measured potential is within the tolerance range. CONSTITUTION:Machinery is initialized at first and potential data and temp. data are taken in from an ORP electrode and calculated to obtain necessary data. Next, it is judged whether electrode checking operation is indicated and, when there is indication, it is judged whether a check solution is an iron solution and, in the case of the iron solution, the tolerance range of potential at the present measured temp. is calculated on the basis of the characteristic table of the iron solution and, in the case of a quinhydron solution, the same processing is applied thereto. When the potential is within the tolerance range, an electrode is judged to be fine and when the potential is out of the tolerance range, the electrode is judged to be inferior and this judgement result is displayed on a display part or sent out to the outside as an output signal.

<Conventional technology> Conventionally, when determining the quality of an oxidation-reduction electrode (hereinafter abbreviated as ORP electrode), the ORP electrode that is the target of the determination, which is installed in the equipment, is exposed to iron solution or quinhydrone as shown in the characteristic diagram in Figure 3. The device is immersed in a check liquid whose oxidation-reduction potential changes with respect to temperature changes, such as a solution, and the measured value of the oxidation-reduction potential of the check liquid is displayed on the display of the device, and the temperature of the check liquid in that state is displayed. The oxidation-reduction potential corresponding to the measured temperature is measured by the temperature measuring means and determined from the above-mentioned characteristic diagram, and the measured value of the oxidation-reduction potential of the check liquid by the ORP electrode that is the subject of judgment is the check liquid determined from the above-mentioned characteristic diagram. Acceptance or failure is determined based on whether the redox potential corresponding to the measured temperature is within an allowable range.

The temperature and potential measurement data that were converted into digital signals and manually entered into the central processing unit 5 were subjected to the calculation processing necessary to obtain potential (mV) data and temperature data in the internal calculation means 6. Thereafter, the measured data is temporarily stored in the measurement data memory 7. A check liquid characteristic table memory 8 connected to the central processing unit 5 stores characteristic data as shown in FIG. The corresponding table is stored. Among the check liquid characteristic tables stored in the check liquid characteristic table memory 8, those of the check liquid in use are selected according to the designation signal inputted by the check performance designation section 9, and read out to the calculation means 6. Calculating means 6 calculates an allowable potential range at the current measurement temperature based on the temperature data read from the measurement data memory 7 and the check liquid characteristic table read from the check liquid characteristic table memory 8, and compares the results.] Manpower to 0. The comparison means 10 compares whether the potential data read from the measurement data memory 7 is within the allowable range of the potential calculated by the calculation means 6, and determines the quality of the ORP electrode 1 to be checked. The results of the determination of the quality of the ORP electrode 1 to be checked by the comparing means 10 are displayed on the display section 11. In addition, ORP

Subsequently, potential data and temperature data are fetched from the ORP electrode 1 (step 2), and calculation processing is performed to obtain necessary data from these fetched data (step 3). Thereafter, it is determined whether or not there is an instruction to check the electrode (step 4), and if there is no instruction to check the electrode, the processes from step 2 onwards are repeated. If an instruction to check the electrode is given, it is determined whether the liquid is a check liquid or an iron solution (step 5). If an iron solution is specified as the check liquid, calculate the allowable potential range at the current measurement temperature based on the iron solution characteristic table (Step 6); if a quinhydrone solution is specified as the check liquid, An allowable potential range at the current measurement temperature is calculated based on the characteristic table of the quinhydrone solution (step 7). Then, it is determined whether the measured potential is within the permissible range based on the permissible range of the potential calculated in Step 6 or Step 7 (Step 8). If the potential is within the permissible range, the electrode If the potential is outside the allowable range, it is determined that the electrode is ``no'' (step 10). These determination results are displayed on the display section or outputted to the outside as an output signal (step 11). Thereafter, the processing from step 2 onwards is repeatedly executed.
