Conventional metal colanders have a colander body made of woven stainless steel wire, a metal or plastic frame member is attached to the colander body, and the net bottom of the colander body is made so that the net bottom is slightly raised above the mounting surface. The legs are formed.

Means for forming the leg portions include means for attaching legs made of separate members to the mesh bottom of the colander main body, and means for forming downward protrusions on the mesh bottom of the colander main body.

The former means is known, for example, in the metal colander disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 59-31349, in which a hole is bored in the net bottom of the colander main body, and a cylindrical leg is brought into contact with the bottom of the hole. A rivet is driven into the cylindrical leg from above, and the cylindrical leg is suspended from the bottom of the net by caulking.

In such a metal colander provided with legs made of separate members, holes must be formed in the bottom of the mesh, and the legs must be secured by crimping. For this reason, the mesh near the holes is deformed and a uniform mesh is not formed, resulting in a decrease in commercial value. On the other hand, in the latter method, since the downward protrusion is formed integrally with the mesh bottom of the colander main body, deformation of the mesh is less likely to occur.

However, in such an integrated metal colander, the protrusions must support the weight of the metal colander, and the protrusions and the bottom must support the weight of the contents stored in the metal colander, so the protrusions are likely to collapse. There is a drawback.

As a means for solving these drawbacks, a metal strainer disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 125345/1983 by the same applicant is known. This metal colander is made by spraying a negatively charged epoxy powder resin at a high voltage using an electrostatic spray gun, a spray booth, etc. on the entire surface of a grounded metal colander main body to form an electrostatic powder coating.

However, when a coating film is formed on the entire surface of the metal colander main body in this way, cracks are likely to occur in the coating film. This is because if the stored items are heavy, stress will be concentrated on the paint film, making it more likely to crack. Furthermore, when a coating film is formed on the entire surface of the colander main body, the color tone becomes monotonous.

Furthermore, a metal strainer disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 49-24644 is known as one in which a coating film is applied to a part of the side surface. This method does not provide reinforcement for the protrusions formed from part of the bottom of the wire mesh as legs, and since curved rods are provided as legs, the curved rods have to be molded into a complicated shape, resulting in an increase in the number of parts. There will also be more.

This invention is based on a metal colander that has a wire mesh at the bottom of the colander main body that is surrounded by protruding legs, and that an electrostatic powder coating made of epoxy resin or the like is formed on at least the protrusions to strengthen the legs. It is a made colander.

Even if the stored items are heavy, at least the bottom or sides, including the protrusions formed on the bottom of the colander main body, are reinforced because they are coated with an electrostatic powder coating, and the protrusions are prevented from collapsing. Furthermore, stress concentration is dispersed.

1 to 3 show a first embodiment, in which a colander main body 2 is formed of a stainless steel wire 1, and a downward protrusion 4 is integrally provided around the edge of the bottom 3 of the colander main body 2. Furthermore, an electrostatic powder coating film 7 is formed on the bottom portion 3, four protrusions, the inner side 5, and the side portions 6.

This coating film 7 is applied by applying a powder resin such as epoxy resin, vinyl chloride, polyamide resin, polyester resin, or acrylic resin that is negatively charged with high voltage to the grounded metal colander main body 2 using an electrostatic spray gun, spray booth, etc. Electrostatic powder coating is performed by spraying, suction, fixation, and heating and melting or curing. Therefore, part of the bottom part 3 and side part 6 including the protrusion 4 is reinforced by the coating film 7, and the protrusion 4 is prevented from being crushed by the weight of the colander main body 2 and the contents stored in the colander main body 2. Furthermore, when the stored items are heavy, the stress concentration occurring in the coating film 7 is dispersed and no cracks occur, and furthermore, the coating film 7, the stainless steel wire rod 1, and the frame member 8 produce a complex color tone.

In this invention, a wire mesh at the bottom of the colander body is provided with protruding legs, and an electrostatic powder coating made of epoxy resin or the like is formed on at least the protrusions to strengthen the legs. As a result, the protrusions formed from part of the wire mesh as legs are reinforced by the coating film and made strong, so there is no risk of the protrusions being crushed by the weight of the colander main body and the contents stored in the colander main body, and there is no possibility that the protrusions may be crushed due to the weight of the colander main body and the contents stored in the colander main body. In some cases, the stress concentration that occurs in the paint film is dispersed and cracks are less likely to occur.
Complex colors can be produced by the coating and the wire that forms the colander body.
